Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)
1way, I too believe that believers will go through the "tribulation"… Many have adopted the relatively new Futurist’s position; it teaches among other things that the saints will be taken before the tribulation. I however have not seen Scriptural support for this teaching...
Ashes? Rather than ashes on one’s forehead why not rather claim by faith the blood of Christ for the forgiveness of sins….Another example of something we have to do [works] instead of resting in the finished redemptive work of Christ…
Reform, I agree; the study of Biblical Eschatology is a fascinating study that all believers should prayerfully study. The wise will no doubt understand the times in which they live…“But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you” [1 Thessalonians 5:1]…
Hi Rail, I appreciate a well balanced perspective as the one you posted…Mark 9:43-46 which parallels Matthew 5:22; 29-30 and 18:8-9 reference the word: Gehenna – a transliteration of the Hebrew “Valley of (the son of) Hinnon,” located south of Jerusalem. It was associated in ancient times as a place sacrifice [2 Kings 23:10], Jeremiah said it would be known as “the valley of Slaughter”...more

It was associated in ancient times as a place sacrifice [2 Kings 23:10], Jeremiah said it would be known as “the valley of Slaughter” [Jeremiah 7:32-33] and Isaiah envisioned the same at the end of the world [Isaiah 66:24]. I believe Revelation 20 vividly expounds upon this scene and brings eternal punishment upon the wicked; however, I think Jesus in the gospels was merely affirming two destinies instead of defining the ‘nature’ of eternal fire…less
Augustino, yes; this seeking for immortality is also described as something we “put on” [1 Corinthians 15:51-54] at Christ’s coming….In this article Bell seems to be proposing the teaching of universalism [that all will be saved] which is totally unbiblical. He would do well to reconsider his position; although, it is interesting to note that scholars throughout history have long debated t...more

He would do well to reconsider his position; although, it is interesting to note that scholars throughout history have long debated the nature of hell and there hasn’t been a unanimous consensus regarding it. Many have argued that this idea of “eternal” torment grew out of the Greek dualistic view [philosophy] of human nature; that is, the belief that man consisted of a mortal body and an immortal soul…According to Scripture, God alone possesses immortality [ 1 Timothy 1:17; 6:15-16] and Scripture furthermore teaches that immortality is a “gift” not something man possesses innately…less
By stating that Jesus is not God which Scripture explicitly teaches makes me question your claim to be a Christian...Every heretical error begins with a misunderstanding of the nature of God. I'm heading out for lunch so I'll be back later to continue this discussion...
86, how do you reconcile your claim to be a Christian while dismissing the LORD Jesus' declaration of natural marriage; Jesus said, " “But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female” and “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife” (Mark 10:6-7).
"It's interesting now that the world is so morally upside down that when we talk about marriage we have to make a distinction between natural marriage – heterosexual marriage – and this new thing that people are calling marriage," Mohler said. Well said brother Mohler! Our LORD only recognize natural marriage; Jesus said, " “But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and fe...more

The state may recognize these unions but from a Christian perspective there is nothing normal about gay marriage. It remains a sin just like all other sexual sins; fornication, adultery, homosexuality, etc are sins that need to be repented of...
