That's why I said "government". Go to church.

There certainly would be a lot of confusion and tension. Even more than now. Because, even as intelligent as we are, we could not created a well-oiled society that runs on marriage as a religious institution only. But some day, God will be the head of the "government", and things will run perfectly. And the only marriage will be heterosexual.

And so, we wouldn't worry about if a Christian photographer refused service to a gay couple.

True, partly for the reason I first mentioned. Well, primarily for that reason. It can't be because they wouldn't be very stable, because with a divorce rate of 50%+, it's not very stable as it is.

Who says it would have to be respected? If I said I was President, would that have to be respected too?

Marriage license and legal rights are a government thing. We're talking about if it were a religious institution. There would be no legal rights. No beneficiaries (other than those you name in your will), no tax breaks, etc, etc.

So, the law is partial. A dating site can refuse service to a married person. That's discrimination.

Oh, so then the government would still dictate who was married. So it would be no different than now. But that is incorrect., they wouldn't. If marriage were a religious institution only, the government would have as much power telling us who was married and not as they do in telling us who is a true Chrisitan or not. Sorry.

Ah, so if he doesn't accept that someone is married, and the government doesn't involve itself in marriage, then who's to say who's married? He could say that they're not married, so he doesn't have to counsel them.

Just like I react and discipline my children differently according to their personalities so does God do with us. But I have the same rules for all my children, just as God does for us.
