It is just a basketball game, not a street rumble. So one team made more points, get over it & move on. No one deserves any shame either.

It is tough on those out side trying to look in without wanting to actually get in.

Proof of Genesis as literal? Sincerely ask Christ to forgive your sin, cleanse you in His blood & come into your being (heart). I did that in '69 & I now have all the proof I need. Jesus IS real, His words are life & He can show you this is true if you choose to let Him.

How about some proof for evolution? There is none. In fact the Theory of Evolution does not have enough evidence to support it to raise it from a hypothesis in the 1st place. To be accurate& honest, Darwin's work should be called the Hypothesis of Evolution.

Trying to disprove the Bible has always proved to a futile quest. Read Josh McDowell's "Evidence That Demands a Verdict" & Lee Strobel's "The Case For..." series. If you are really trying to find the truth & not playing mind games you will learn a lot from these two authors.

Looks like some one is fulfilling Bible prophecy. Revelation 13:4-6 says

4 And they worshiped the dragon which gave power unto the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him?"

5 And there was given unto him a mouth, speaking great things and blasphemies, and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God to blaspheme His name, and His tabernacle, and them that dwell in Heaven.

For people who do not believe the Bible they sure go a long way to prove it's accuracy.

Looks like it's time to pray!

Even if there were contradictions they would not matter to me. I lean to the different points of view from different perspectives by people who saw what they saw as individuals. No two people record exactly the same thing when they see an event. I learned that in HS journalism class.

All I know is that when I prayed to receive Jesus Christ in my heart He came in. He did something to me that I cannot explain to any one but those who have had the same experience.

The bottom line is Jesus' Gospel works. He is real. He has shown that to me in so many inexplicable but very real ways many times. If the contradiction hunters are looking for an excuse to set the Bible aside, I say go ahead. Set it aside. But quit playing these stupid games & just tell everyone up front you just do not want to believe in Christ & the Bible. Just tell the Lord to leave you alone. He will. You won't like it in the long run, but He won't go where He is not wanted.

Quit looking for excuses & be upfront, you who do not want His love, mercy & forgiveness. As for me, I love Him. He is real. His Word is true & works quite well, thank you very much!

  • Gay Man Files $70M Suit Against Bible Publishers Over 'Homosexual' Verses

Don't forget the homosexual community is standing on the shoulders of us who have been fornicators & adulterers.

They would not be making such inroads so out of proportion to their numbers if it were not for the acceptance of 'straight' sex sin in US culture.

Fornication between 'straights' is far more rampant than homosexuality & is shoved in our faces all the time. Where is the protest over that as well?

Straight sex sin opened the door...are we surprised that homosexuals & NAMBLA want their perversions to be legitimized as well?

I was a sex sinner with the opposite sex. I had to repent. After living on both sides of the aisle I will stick with Jesus & His word. Has worked very well for me since 1969.

I do not judge this man. He is already judged, as are all who refuse Christ. I pray for him...that is all we are allowed to do, thought if we are living by the Word we can voice opposition to all such sins. I am not qualified to throw stones...

  • Pastors Encouraged to Challenge IRS Ban on Political Preaching

Most Churches don't make enough to worry about taxes in the first place. If they do their books honestly, I think they do, I am sure that the profit is very small, if there even is one.

this may not be true for large churches, but they could afford the taxation, which is illegal any way.

Where does the Constitution give gov the power the IRS has to control ANY speech? Do tax free foundations have the same rules applied to them? We know many of them support causes that are UN-US American.

    Many good comments here!

I like the Amplified my self, though I study & read from several others. Another good Bible reading site is BibleGateway.com. If you are filled with the Holy Spirit He will lead you around any problems with translations. None of them is perfect, but all the ones I have read are good enough to bring one to a knowledge of salvation in Christ & are OK when it comes to the baptism in the Holy Spirit & major points of doctrine. Other wise we would all have to learn the original language.

A much large problem is with interpreting the Word to come up with false doctrines like the pre-Trib. Rapture which is no where found in the Bible. It is only found in the writing of those who misconstrue the Word to meet an agenda.

Before you get to thinking I am off the wall, a Q or 2:

How does one get saved? How does one gain entrance to the Church/Body/Bride of Christ? How do those called the 'left behind' get saved? Why are they then left out of the Church/Body/Bride of Christ? How is it possible to be saved & left out? I do not think it is, but we have the "Left Behind" series tacitly telling us it is possible to get saved & left out of the Church of Jesus. To me this is indicates misinterpretation, not translation problems.I think we have a much larger problem with the former rather than the latter. No music instruments in Church, praying to saints, the gifts of the Spirit are no longer needed, Mary worship, Eastern meditation practices...lots of misinterpretation...

  • Christian Teens Embracing Harder Rock Music

    SAFox »
    Fri Apr 11, 2008 2:30 pm Agree: 8   Disagree: 1

Teens are not the only ones. I am near 60 & I still dig good rock type music. I think a lot has to do with content more than any thing: who & what is lifted up. I don't often re-listen to songs that have no redeeming qualities. Plus I like a lot of the great praise music that is coming out. I Can Only Imagine is a great song! Got me thinking about how I will react when I am honored to be at Jesus'
    feet.

One problem Christian critics have is calling attention to things they do not like to such a degree that too much attention is payed to something like the Harry Potter series that these kinds of things receive free publicity & stimulate curiosity.. Many times not paying so much attention may be the best course. Being led by the Holy Spirit is the key.

Any body remember Larry Norman? I liked him & the 2nd Chapter of Acts. One rocked his message, the others sang a lot of praise. I go both ways with Christian music.

If songs lead away form the Lord they do not have to be listened to. God Be with!!

  • Religious Scholars Troubled by Resurrection Delusions

    SAFox »
    Sun Mar 23, 2008 2:09 pm Agree: 2   Disagree: 0

If Jesus had not been resurrected would we be having this conversation? I doubt it.

Those who first proclaimed the Christ as risen from death knew that if they were lying about it they would be sinning by saying He was alive if in fact He were still dead. They went to their graves proclaiming "He is risen!!" They put everything on the line. The safety of their families, their lives, fortunes & sacred honor...every thing! It is hard to believe that liars would be so bold in proclaiming a lie that could cost them so dearly. They knew the risk & took it gladly!

If they were not telling the truth, as Paul said, we would be of all mankind the most miserable & we would still be trapped by the power of our sin.

I know Jesus is alive because of what happened in me when I -prayed the simple prayer "Jesus come into my heart, forgive my sin & help me live for You!" He did just that & has proven Himself so faithful over the years since that November day in 1969 when I experienced Him my self!

Yes! I am experienced! I hope Jimi & Eric knew & know what I'm talkin' about!

If you are not sure ask Him! Just be of sincere heart & ready to repent & follow Him. Pray something like "God I am a sinner. Your Book says that to me. Jesus, please forgive my sin, come into my heart (innermost being) & help me know You! Make me born again by your Spirit. Thank you " Then start reading the Bible. Start with the Gospel of John & the book of Romans.

He is alive! He is risen! Go with Him while you can.
