"I can follow every rules but still be a rude person with no compassion. Or I can follwo *most* of the rules and be a fantastic shining example of what he wants from us. "
I agree, I have seen people that know the Bible inside and out but have no Idea about God's love and I know people that know nothing of God and are truly wonderful people. I think the key is accepting the sacrafice Christ made for us on the Cross and accepting the Holy Spirit into our hearts and using the power of the resurrection to change our lives into what is holy and just just as God wants.

"A classic example: I don't think he cares if we are in church every single Sunday as much as he cares how we spend the days between when we go to church."
I agree with you here, I think the Church is more for fellowship and Worship then learning the Word of God. That learning comes from studying the Word of God on a Daily Basis and communing with God regularly...

"Religious bigots can't wrap their head around the idea that gay people are also of God and were made exactly as they are by God"
Why must you call people names all the time. That shows the disrespect you have for others...

"Understood. This might be hard for you to imagine (if the tables were turned I'm pretty sure it woud be for me), but most gay people (except of course for those who are atheists) have confronted the religious question deeply and seriously. They prayed and prayed and prayed over it. None take it lightly. "
I disagree, that goes back to following the rules vs not following the rules. God wants us to follow the rules that is why they have been written down so that we follow them with a Heart to Please the Lord. By not following those rules it shows a disrepect for the Lord...

"No what it means is that some people want children kept dumb so that they grow up to be adults who can be controlled by a theocracy. Basically, it is the antithesis of what America has always stood for."
No Evolutionists want everyone controlled by "the Party" and the only way to do that is to prevent people from thinking for themselves...

"Evolution does not have all the answers-just a fe wof them-but they make a lot more sense that "something snapped its fingers and everything appeared...""
Well given that Man created Evolution and Man allows people to die on a regular basis due to Greed, I believe God rather then Man anyday...

"How come humans have failing eyesight and wild animals do not?"
How do you know wild animals don't have bad eyesight, Dog's go blind all the time when they get old just has humans do, does that prove evolution? No it doesn't...

"Why not? Let all sides be heard, why just the biblical side of creation?"
I agree why don't we teach all sides and alow the intelligence of the children show through, oh wait that would mean that they would not be able to control the childrens minds

"This article is completely off-base. There was no "Intelligent Design" intro, there was 50 pages of partially-plagiarized smears against Charles Darwin liberally smattered with crusty old ad hominems about Darwinism being the reason for Naziism, racism, and oh, I don't know, lets say AIDS."
I am gonna go off on a limb and say you havent read the introduction yet have you...

Only then will true heaven be achieved on earth!"
Really and we will continue to have 16 year olds MURDER so they will know what if feels like... Yeah a great society of murders and rapist will be created with the lack of Christ in Schools...

Science can't even figure out how to stop the spread of Malaria or Aids, you think anything scientific will be used for the Good of humanity...

"But...eventually that parent *must* let go and hope their child has picked up on the important things enough to make good choices on their own. And that child must eventually move on and run their own life. They can respect their parent forever, of course, but once they run their own life they are responsible themselves. They can come back to mom & dad if they are in a bind, but they run their own lives."
I agree but our Heavenly father wants to have a relationship with us, but for that to happen we must submit to his authority and in that respect and live by his rules. The more we rely on him and his strength the less we have to ask him for help in a bind...

"Cool. And if in praying to god you were directly to stray from the rules and follow your heart more, would you do it? If you really believed in your heart that was what god was directing you to do? Or would you instead ignore that and stick to the rules anyway?"
Well I would have to say that I want to be faithful to God, God would direct me so I would not need to stray from what he was telling me to do i guess. Its not about following my heart but following God's Will.

""You absolutely right, God doesn't hate Homosexuals, however we cannot be in his presence with sin in our lives because he is perfect and his holiness would prevent us from being there with him if we weren't also Holy. Now the Sacrafice on the Cross that Christ did for our salvation is what allows us to be in God's Presence. What makes us sinful is by not following the rules that God has laid down for us..."
And since out of the 450 times the word "sin" is used in the Bible, it is never associated with homosexuals or homosexuality, we therefore know that it is NOT a sin."
Well given that that is correct doesn't take away from the truth in law and decrees that God wrote down in the Bible.

"And if by chance it turned out to be a mistake, god would be right there to help you learn from the mistake and do better the next time. And I believe he would appreciate you trying, and appreciate you putting all your gifts to use in his name, whether it strayed from the exact rules or not."
God is always there if we stray so that he can show his loving mercy and Grace, we just have to accept the mercy he provides.

"Also, I am a big believer of: why would god have given you these many great gifts if not to put them to use? You seem like someone with a tremendous capacity to use your good judgment to do great things. You intentions are obviously good. If I was following you, and you wanted to "bend the rules" because you had a good reason why doing so would actually accomplish god's will even more, and you explained that to me, I would follow you."
I agree to a point, I think everyone has the capincity to do good, I think that if everyone followed God's rules, we all would truly be able to show how great God is with out the need to bend his rules...

""Then I would research the rules they said I wasn't following, I would pray and let God direct my path, that is the way it is supposed to be, God is directing my path and I am fine with that."
From the things that you post, you don't seem to be following Him very well."
How do you gather that???
