They are not known by their actions for being strong pro-life advocates. Their knowledge of pro-life issues is lacking.
Rather they are passiobate about the issue of poverty. But because of that, they are liable to throw unborn babies under the bus to justify the cause of their real passions.
Do bot look to them as realiable Evangelicals who truly speak for the cause of the unborn.
They have betrayed the biblical conviction of the sanctity of human life for their support of healthcare reform that will only increase abortions in American through federal funding.
The National Right to Life has the passion, expertise, & track record for protecting unborn babies. NRTL is firmly against the healthcare bill. They are the voice with credibility, not Wallis or Sider.less

One cannot even begin to imagine the discipline that God will display upon such persons. The cry of mercy will perpetuate endlessly into the darkness.less
The evidence of fruit is but one determinant, not the only factor. One may labor in faithfulness while rooted in Christ consistently from year to year & still not have much external fruit. Think of all the missionaries that labor in the difficult Muslim mission fields. The fruit may not be immediate but they are still serving faithfully while rooted in Christ.
Pastor Joel C. Hunter's plea to not fund abortions with tax monies is "too little, too late." With his political support of Obama during the election season, was Pastor Hunter really so naive to believe that Obama would not be advocating radical abortion policies? Pastor Hunter has betrayed the cause of unborn babies!
This is the "baby" of the Democrats; they are solely responsible for the success or failure of health care reform. When Americans begin to realize what has been done to their health care costs & medical care, the Democrats will pay dearly at the polls. This will sink the Democratic party for years to come!
Senators Casey & Nelson have betrayed the cause of the pro-life movement & unborn babies. No one will now believe the lies that they are supporters of life for the unborn. The blood of millions of unborn babies are at the hands of Casey & Nelson. May they sleep at night with the ever present realization of that fact.

Time to shut down Planned Parenthood across America. They cover-up the statutory rapes of minors by older men. They show no shame in targeting minorities for abortions. They have a history of advocating racist eugenics policies. Planned Parenthood should be ashamed of themselves. Planned Parenthood is for losers & they certainly don't deserve any funds from taxpayers.

In this revised and expanded edition of "Marriage: The Rock on Which the Family is Built," internationally-renowned theologian William E. May makes the case for marriage's foundational role for family, with marriage defined as the union of one man and one woman. Drawing on Pope John Paul II's "theology of the body," he explains the person-affirming, love-enabling, life-giving, and sanctifying nature of marriage. He shows how marriage is necessarily a complementary union of man and woman and how this rules out the idea of "same-sex" marriage. >>less

Jonnyblad,
I am in total agreement with your reasoning of the theological argument for traditional marriage.
However, not everyone accepts the authority of the Bible. Many don't even believe in God in this forum.
As a result, an alternative argument is to use cultural/historical precedence while appealing to common sense thinking.
If we are speaking only to the "choir" of professing believers then the biblical appeal would be superior.
But the reality is that many lurkers don't respect the authority of Scripture & such an appeal would ring hollow until they are regenerated.
I don't understand why professing Christians stoop to using such weak arguments when we have the authority of God at our disposal. God defines marriage just like He defines everything else. If God created marriage between a man and a woman than no one has any right to change the definition or do it any differently.
Now there is an authoritative argument: God created marriage, God defines marriage and to try and change it is a sin that will bring His judgment.>less

Norman,
The traditional view of marriage is based on the common sense moral precepts accepted by thousands of years of generations throughout the world.
I strongly disagree with the perception that is is "hateful and bigoted."
In any case, the attempt to emotionally stigmatize another's viewpoint will not succeed in shutting down alternative viewpoints.
One can likewise interpret the same-sex "marriage" worldview as immoral, unethical, unbiblical, unwise, and harmful to the family and society.
No one has the right to redefine marriage for society. No one should attempt to force one's definition of marriage on everyone else.
That is not seeking the best for our society and is very unloving. In fact, that is very self-seeking, self-absorbed and self-focused.
The argument that same-sex "marriage" is valid by pointing to a low divorce rate is quite a weak argument indeed. There are numerous factors to control for; correlation does not equate with causation. Let's not overgenerize connections for the benefit of one's viewpoints.
It is very hateful and bigoted to state that someoen else's union is less than your own>less
Norman,
It is true, the secular humanist approach to education is so bad that many have missed out on learning the deep religious foundations rooted in our nation's heritage.

Embryo adoption is the answer & alternative to discarding embryos.
It is unethical to experiment with human embryos, no matter how noble a goal it might be.
On a practical level, embryonic stem cell research have resulted in no viable events of success.
On the other hand, adult stem cell research have turned out huge numbers of successful treatments.
The results speak for themselves.
Proponents of embryonic research are motivated by the potential pipelines of government monies. Just follow the money!
Why aren't there private venture capitalists investing in embryonic research? They know the potential for success is zero.
The only way to fund these embryonic studies is through the forced utilization of taxpayers' monies. And against the moral objections of many.
The anti-life forces have an extremely low view of the sacredness of life. That's why experimentation on the disabled, sick, elderly, & disenfranchised will be the next slippery slope targets when the utilitarian approach is used as a justification.
Just like how Hilter justified his experiments on the "useless" segments of society.
How blind can we be to repeat the same mistakes of the 1930's and 1940's?less

Malcolm Smith needs to go back to his church for renewed Sunday School lessons on the biblical world view of marriage. Obviously, his pastor has done a poor job of teaching the congregation.
Eric Adams holds an unbiblical world view of living out the Christian life in the arena of public policy decision-making. For him to leave his Bible at the door of his workplace only means that his faith does not mean that much for him. His pastor needs to get up to speed in preaching the biblical world view at the pulpit.less
