  • Pastor Urges Christian Parents to Avoid 'Fortress Mentality'

I do agree that we are to be impacting those around us. There is discernment involved in this just like anything else. Some children are leaders, some are followers. You will have to be cautious with the followers, they could be easily swayed the other way. The leaders you turn them lose and back them up.

I did not say all pastors were not like that, I said the ones I know are not. You made a very general statement to which I pointed out you may be wrong that all pastors are like that. In every walk of life you will find idiots, that does not mean all carpenters, salemen, etc. are like that.

Yeah every pastor is like that. As I think about it none of the pastors I know are like that. And I appreciate them for that.

  • They Love Jesus; They Don’t Like the Church!

I just ran acroos a great quote from an Episcopal Priest that I think fits this. " As Christians, our determiner of right and wrong is Scripture. We are people of the book." Some will abuse that on the side of being judgemental, but scripture deals with that. Some will reject that because they do not want to hear the truth, and scripture deals with that as well. We must establish a relationship with those around and share the love of Jesus with them, and then show the importance of being part of the local body. The local body where that is the focus will go along way in causing those folks to want to be a part of the church.
