Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)
This is funny! Maybe Jesus should have hired one of these test shoppers to critique His speech in John Ch6 where he repeated "This is my body.... This is my blood" and most of the Jews though He was wacked and walked out on Him. With a test shopper Jesus would not have made this huge mistake in his preaching! Right on artm! We all have our struggles, Haggard is no different and his wife is no different. I'm a firm believer that God allows these addictions (sex, money, drugs, alcohol, etc) as a way to get closer to Him. I'm a firm believer that God allows these addictions (sex, money, drugs, alcohol, etc) as a way to get closer to Him. Haggard could just give in to his "drug", or he can carry this Cross and through it become closer to God. His wife could easily divorce him and move on, but by staying in this marriage, carrying her Cross, she too can grow closer to God. He will learn about the pains and joys of growth in fidelity, purity, chastity, deeper faith and trust in God. She will learn the virtues of forgiveness, obedience to God (for better or worse), deep consistent and faith-filled prayer for her husband's conversion, etc. Their families and friends will come closer to Christ as they witness the love, forgiveness, faith, fidelity and commitment to each other and to Christ!
This cross they carry is a blessing! Through it they can and WILL become intimately close to Christ!
My prayers are with them...less
Dobson asked, "Who will defend the unborn child? Who's going to fight for the institution of marriage which is on the ropes today? Who will teach young people the dangers of both heterosexual and homosexual promiscuity? Not a problem! Not a problem! There is one Holy Church founded by Jesus Christ Himself that has been around for 2000 years already, defending and speaking solidly on these issues.
The trend has already begun, and I pray that Catholic's and Evangelical's will continue to build that bridge toward each other! We have many things in common, and as one voice we will speak much more powerfully against the evils of this world!less
WOW Star, I though Christian women were to view their worth in Christ! This is amazing! You say "Women view thier worth by what their husband or man is, does, and has". You're not married, so do you feel worthless? You always sound so angry in your posts, maybe this is why? You need to give your heart to Christ!
believer, you coulda looked this one up yourself: A cathedral (Lat. cathedra, "seat") is a Christian church that contains the seat of a bishop. A cathedral (Lat. cathedra, "seat") is a Christian church that contains the seat of a bishop. It is a religious building for worship, specifically of a denomination with an episcopal hierarchy, such as the Roman Catholic, Anglican, Orthodox and some Lutheran churches, which serves as a bishop's seat, and thus as the central church of a diocese.
So by definition Robert A. Schuller is not a bishop and has not right calling his building a cathedral.less
