I do not support prayer in schools. I do not support the ten commandments on public property.

It is your religion. Keep it in your church and home, and out of the public square.

A fundamentalist is a fundamentalist, regardless of what credo is followed. As to christians (any religious group) being non violent, history tells a different story. Until recently (and even then, the driving force could be in some ways called "religion") all wars were religiously based. So do not say christians are not violent.

As to homosexuality, if it is not you, it is not your business. If you do not like it or do not approve of it, do not have anything to do with them. It is not your right to say they must change.

It is your religion; keep it in your church and your home, but out of the public square.

Following the line of being an ex-christian.

I followed blindly until the preacher made an off the cuff comment at the end of one of his sermon a few years ago.

It went something like the following.

Look around your faith, look behind it, and inside of it. Poke and prod your faith. Your faith will come back stronger because of this examination.

For me, I looked around and in my faith. I found nothing of value. When I poked it, it collapsed like a house of cards in a gust of wind. After the collapse, it was like a heavy dark curtain being ripped down from a window facing the sun. It let the light in, and one thing religion cannot survive is the harsh light of reality.

It became clear that it was all mythology. With a little digging, it became clear that all of the stories in the bible were just rehashed versions of stories that came before. The whole thing is plagiarized from those myth makers that went before.

Go dig up the original writings of the founding fathers, not the revisionist version being put fourth by the christian extremist. Most were deist and atheist, not christian. In a letter written by Jefferson, I think it was to one of the Adams, he referred to the bible as 'that damnable book'.

It was the intent of the founding fathers to keep religion out of government as much as government out of religion.

"Christianity, stands in the way of scientific progress—also untrue."

The actions of the church through out history contradicts this statement. Any time science was at odds with the teachings of the church, the scientist were tortured and or killed.

Science explains the mythology of the church, and lessens the hold on the 'believers'.

Religion is built on a three legged stool.
1 explain what the person does not understand at that moment.
2 to control the 'faithful' (do as I say or you go to Hell)
3 to extort the the 'faithful' (give until it hurts or you go to Hell)

I life for the world today, and try to make it better for tomorrow.

At the moment, form what I see; the fundamental christians are trying to bring on Armageddon.

Put down your book of myths, and step back 2 or 3 steps, and comparereality with you mythology/
