Excerpts from LCMS liturgies:
"If we say we are without sin we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just and will cleanse us from all unrighteousness"
"Lord now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word. For mine eyes have seen thy salvation which thou hast prepared before the face of all people. A light to lighten the gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel".
"Create in me a clean heart o God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy spirit, and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation, and renew me with thy free spirit."
"Oh come let us sing unto the lord, let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms"
Words of men indeed.

Why go fight with Uganda? This country would be better off if anti-homosexuality laws were still on the books.

The best impact anyone could have would be to shut down all the 'climate change' fanatics. Their's is a reliigious movement not based on science.
"If they're concerned about reducing abortion, what programs have they proposed or supported to ensure that everyone of potentially reproductive age, young women especially, has accurate and complete information about reproductive biology, including contraception?"
That's a specious argument. Comprehensive sex education is the rule, not the exception, even in Oklahoma. In a perfect world parents would provide that education, but so it goes.

Believers are also judged on their works. Non-believers go before the Great White Throne, and their evil works are judged for degree of punishment. Belivers go before the Judgement Seat of Christ, where their good works are judged for eternal reward. This is, of course, separate from salvation or lack of salvation, which have nothing to do with works.

Mike85,
You are correct, it is never called unclean. It is, however, referred to as "unnatural" and an "abomination".

Prophet,
Danpat is a true devotee to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Cult. The whole concept of them having "Priests" to whom they must receive absolution is antiscriptural. There was a reason that the ground shook and the temple curtain tore in half. As the one they (wrongly) call the first pope wrote, we are members of a "royal priesthood of believers".
We need no intercessor other than Christ, therefore the requirement of the RCC to have a human one proves they are outside the bounds of scripture.

Seagoing populations have always known the world was round, because when a sailing vessel appears on the horizon its masts and sails becomee visible before the hull itself does. That can only happen if the world is round.

There is no Creation Evolution gap. Just as there is no matter-antimatter gap, or hot-cold gap. The two religious systems are different, the former based on God's special revelation, the other contrived by man. I know who I prefer to believe.

The end has been near ever since Jesus ascended. When you consider that God exists outside of time, a couple of thousand years is nothing to Him. Jesus will return when he will, and it's futile to speculate as to when that will happen in our finite temporal terms.

Ted Haggard is gone, the New Life Church should brush off any further revelations about his activities while he was in their pulpit. As far as healing, that can only come from God the Father through the blood of Jesus and the influence of the Holy Spirit.

A real part of Jesus' church would not have numerous doctrines which are in conflict with scripture. Accordingly, the Roman Catholic Church has no basis for calling themselves "the one" or even a part of the "true church".

wadems,
The bible does not say the world is flat or that the universe revolves around it. Read it if you're going to make these kinds of comments, and maybe you won't appear to be quite so stupid.

A big meeting to develop "theology"? There is already a theology, namely to trust in God. This sounds like new age environmentalist wackoism.

Sad when a Church body is more concerned about money than about biblical truth.

All Christian believers, male and female, are members of a royal priesthood of believers. The distinction is an important one, because the Jewish priests (particularlly the high priest) offered the sacrifices to God for the forgiveness of sin. Jesus made us all priests, able to go to God directly for forgiveness.
Christian Priests are unbiblical, as are Female Christian preachers.

That was brilliant, even for me.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
