We shall therefore be in Darwin commemorative territory this next year or so. To the scientifically literate portion of humanity this will be an occasion to acknowledge with gratitude and respect one of the giants of our understanding, a figure to rank with Newton, Gauss, and Einstein. Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection supplied an elegant explanation for the great variety of living things on Earth. No alternative explanation (other than the miraculous) has ever been offered, and a century and a half of inquiry has produced not a single observation that contradicts Darwin’s basic principles. Those principles form the foundation of the life sciences. As the great biologist Theodosius Dobzhansky framed it: ”Nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of evolution.” -

Mr. Craven, this really makes me mad. You have a lot of nerve to spread lies about biological evolution. In the past 150 years the evidence for evolution has become a mountain. All scientific discoveries since Darwin have made evolution stronger. Darwin would be amazed at how powerful the evidence for his natural selection idea is today.
Please believe in any childish nonsense you want, Mr. Craven, but stop being a compulsive liar. When you spread lies about science to defend your childish belief in magic, you make all Christians look bad. -

In the letter, according to the A.P. account, he wrote that “the word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honorable but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish.”
As for his fellow Jews, he said that Judaism, like all other religions, was “an incarnation of the most childish superstitions.” -

Today's news: From the grave, Albert Einstein poured gasoline on the culture wars between science and religion this week. A letter the physicist wrote in 1954 to the philosopher Eric Gutkind, in which he described the Bible as “pretty childish” and scoffed at the notion that the Jews could be a “chosen people,” sold for $404,000 at an auction in London.
I agree with Einstein. The stories in the Bible are fairy tales for children. -

No, that's not correct. Science exists to find natural causes for natural events. Science does not make guesses about supernatural ideas. Also, there could never be any evidence for anything supernatural. Your "If God really does exist then it’s likely science will reveal evidence of His work" is wishful thinking. It will never happen. Have faith in God if you want to, but don't expect science to support your faith. Science has absolutely nothing to do with any religious idea. That's why it's extremely dishonest to claim intelligent design creationism is scientific. -
The Discovery Institute does not like to talk about who the designer is, because they are trying to disguise intelligent design to look scientific. They are not fooling anyone. Everyone knows intelligent design is a religious idea that has absolutely nothing to do with science. That's fine, but why be dishonest about it? Why not just admit intelligent design is religious and not scientific? Isn't there some Commandment that forbids lying?

Wilderness1, you quoted a reverend who criticized evolution. I would be more impressed if you quoted a biologist, preferably a biologist who doesn't work for the Christian organization called the Discovery Institute.
I would also be more impressed if you didn't quote the Bible as if the Bible had any science in it. -
