But based on the teachings of God as found in the inerrant Word of God, what a woman would not get from Jesus Christ is permission to take on a role in the Church that would give her spiritual headship over men, since for her to do so willfuly violates the Word of God!

norman, thanks for sharing your testimony. I too was raised roman catholic and did all of the things you did as well, but I never learned until I was 19 and in the Air Force that God wanted to have a personal relationship with me and I could have one with Him if I would admit that I was a sinner, no problem there, and repent of my sin and turn to God by putting my complete faith/trust in the person and finished work of Christ alone and I did that on the night of May 24th, 1971 and that was the moment I became a Christian.
real mickey, the only one who may indeed be keeping others out of heaven and the Kingdom of God may very well be you as you continue to give people permission to live in sin and stay separated from God since they choose not to repent of their sin and turn to God by putting their complete faith/trust in the person and finished work of Christ alone. And if they indeed are saved you keep them from being effectively used of God by giving them permission to live in sin. And for those who buy into your false beliefs who are unsaved, if they were to die in that condition would be eternally separated from God for eternity.

TL, I totally agree with your view that ultimately a Christian being in the military to include Chaplains is an issue to be resolved between them and God. And as God leads they should respond accordingly. And I wholeheartedly support your's and rhi's right to decide not to join the military and/or participate in war, but we must also realize there may come a time when a war is approaching our front door step and the choice might not be so easy to make. My issue with rhi is not his personal view with regards to his personal decision to serve or not serve, but what appears to be his animosity toward our military because of the wrongful or perceived wrongful acts of a few. And especially considering how many in our military have given their very lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy as Americans.
nobigots, the only problem is that based on the information we presently have to include articles from homosexual rights sites they may have had the right to fire him, but they had no legitmate grounds to support their firing since no harassment took place and based on the grounds they used to justify his firing the woman involved should have been fired as well. But in reality neither one of them should have been fired since they did not harass the other in any way.
real mickey, chances are if they are like you and can only make false accusations and rude comments towards those who disagree with your views when you have neither rational or valid biblical support for your view, then you may be right they probably will not respond!!

real mickey, "odd cult", but an odd cult that God is effectively using to carry His plan of salvation to a lost and dying world, something your denomination has lost complete sight of as it continues to discount and reject God's truthes as taught in His inerrant Word. Oh, but that's right your apostate denomination believes there are other ways to God. Even though Jesus Christ claimed Himself to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life and that no one could come to the Father but through Him!!

real mickey, nice try, but I believe it is your denomination that has all but completely abandoned God's teachings found in the inerrant Word of God and among other things allows for the ordination of practicing homosexuals and believes there is more than one way to God other than through the person and finished work of Christ alone!!
real mickey, as a matter of fact I did go to a number of sources to include several homosexual rights sites and all of them gave the same basic facts, plus I have sent an e-mail to the company. But what is comical is that in the past not having all the facts has never kept you from taking sides on an issue, so why is this story any different. Or could it be that you know if indeed all the facts we have now are correct that Mr. Vilada was indeed unjustly fired and not guilty of harassment!
nb, I have never had any romantic/physical attraction towards men, however there were men who had them towards me and in my teens it did not appear any girls had them towards me and I began to wonder if I was homosexual. Then some of my friends told me I could make money if I let these guys mess with me and I was stupid enough to try it once, but was so scared I never thought about trying it again. But that was before I knew that God wanted to have a personal relationship with me through His Son, Jesus Christ and before I became a Christian, but after I became a Christian I came to realize that I was not homosexual, but never lost my sensitivity to the struggle some go through with their sexual identity.
nb, I don't believe that homosexuals are inherently bad, but like all humans they are born with a sin nature and when given the choice like all human will normally choose to sin. I also believe that if a homosexual comes to believe that same-sex attractions are a sin in the sight of God that God will give them the ability by the Holy Spirit to experience victory over same-sex attractions and the sins they lead to.

rhi, I'll let your posts speak for themselves when it comes to your view of the military and Christians in the military. But you seem to be very good at pointing out the problems in the military, but very lacking in pointing out the fact that without a strong military we would not be enjoying the freedoms we have in America, nor do you mention all the positive things accomplished by the military to include many things not related to combat or war!
mickey, no one needs to lie about you as you do all that on your own and Matthew does seem to be speaking about you quite well in that verse!!

mike85, sorry to see you go and although we've butted heads we've also had some very meaningful discussions as well. Praying you'll continue to do well as you teach your students!

norman, would you be willing to share how you became a Christian and how you stopped being a Christian and what led you to both of those decisions, thanks?

real mickey, since I've never been in the closet, I guess you must be speaking from personal experience!!

real mickey, I must say the second paragraph of your 2:06 post to norman describes you perfectly, thank you for sharing that about yourself!!
reral mickey, trust me the only one you're fooling is yourself and waiting several days to respond to posts won't hide the fact you've come on CP under other IDs!!

viking, we saw that a lot at the beginning of Desert Storm and the conflicts we're in now where military members started jumping ship! The problem is that some recruiters are using the bennies as opposed to the desire to defend one's country in their desire to meet their quotas and this is the result. The college I attended had a very large group of men in their religion department, but would you believe that when the Vietnam War ended the numbers dropped dramatically!!
real mickey, I have never admitted I was homosexual, but per usual that's doesn't keep you from making your false accusations!! Plus, what's really comical is that most of if not all those who admit to being homosexual have read the same things you have and say that I am not a homosexual. I wonder why that is, could it be you're a little confused with your own sexual orientation??
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
