  • Can a True Believer Be Fooled into Believing the Prosperity Gospel?

I too believe that a believer can be fooled into believing prosperity gospel. I think it just comes from not studying the bible enough. Someone can read a verse to you and it sound one way but when you read the rest you could get something totally different. I think the most important verses to keep in mind are "Seek ye first the kingdom of God" and "It is easier for a carmel to fit through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to see the Kingdom of God." That doesn't mean God doesn't want us to have things but he wants us to live life abundantly but not with earthly possessions but with his love.

    Your so right Gibbons Family

I am currently looking for another church because the church I was raised in has resorted to allowing certain things to keep from hurting some of the members feelings! I say all the guidance you need is in the good book and nothing should be able to change that...it didn't make me say, hey this is not right so i'm never going to church again I just said well this church is not for me anymore and when I find that church that is praising God with members that are true in their convictions it will fit like a good shoe.

  • Christian Doctor Loses Position over Gay Adoption View

I totally agree with those of you who said Dr. Matthews isn't cut out for that job, as a Christian who feels so strongly about her beliefs I wouldn't even want to work for a place like this agency. Forcing someone to vote for gay couples adopting. As Summathetes said, is the only correct vote a vote "for" gay adoption. Very sick indeed. I hope she wins her lawsuit. If I were her and I'd do it just to change things and then never return to the agency. Gay couples have no right to afflict their unclean lifestyles onto defenseless children who haven't even been able to form their own judgements yet. They chose to be gay; a man and a man nor a woman and a woman can produce...when they decided to indulge in this sinful lifestyle they made the choice not to reproduce and that is something they should live with.

Flagged as inappropriate. show I totally agree with Weekenderman and Rolln4him! This country is based on Christian value and all though it hasn't been absolutely correct in all of it's interpretation of the bible as it applies to society, this one is blatantly clear and spoke against in the bible. Homosexuality is a foul stench in the nose of God! As Christians you cannot try to create rights for something that is wrong! What's next it's okay to fiddle with children, I'm sure they'll dig back in the ages where it was okay to marry off 12 year olds! hide

I believe what blacksho was trying to say is that maybe they shouldn't have made it a requirement to profess faith in order to join because let's say there is a person whom is just curious about Christianity and wants to learn a little bit about the religion but they don't know for sure if they want to be christian does that mean they should be banded! If that was the type of club they wanted they shouldn't have tried to start it in a public school. Don't get me wrong I am a Christian a believe that religion is just as important in school as at home but why make people say what is not in their hearts just to learn about our faith. I'd rather not have a club than to have a club comprised of fakes and phonies just saying what they need to say to get in.

Bottom line Mike and Dongard, as Christians the bible is the first and last word and in the bible all marriages and relationships that are glorified in God's eyes are of man and woman. God said be fruitful and multiply, man and man nor woman and woman can reproduce, Onan was despised in God's eyes for practicing withdrawal and not reproducing as God said. God created sexual activity as a way to bring about new life to the world. Therefore, homosexuality is wrong. Our Government and country, stating in "God we Trust" cannot seriously believe by condoning and rewarding homosexuality "God will bless American". We will end up like Sodom and Gomorrah.

    This is absolutely in sane:

"And abortion supporters have blamed the rhetoric of conservative groups for fueling the violence.

Operation Rescue released on Thursday audio recordings and e-mails it received containing death threats, one of which says it's "time to start killing Bible-thumping morons." The Wichita-based group recently asked the U.S. Justice Department to investigate the threats."

Since when should people be killed for having different beliefs and opinions. This world is so evil!!!

One more thing! John, yes Ted Haggard did fall from grace with is Homosexual activity, however he admitted his fault and repented. Was he sincere only God knows and that is not for us to judge. Point being that being Christian does not mean that you will never screw up it means that when you do you realize and take responsiblity, repent and work to not do it again.

God is so good and understanding and forgiving (most importantly). If only we could learn that way...

Weekenderman, you are absolutely right, HM and John are here because they wish to follow Jesus. I'll pray that they do.

Believer, you are absolutely right, from what I have seen the SBC has come a long way throughout the years and just because not everyone feels that a Democrat in office should be celebrated (due to the platform, of course) doesn't mean they are bigots. I have to say that I myself registered Democrat at the age of 18, when I was told Democrats are for the poor...but now that I am truly in pursuit of the Lord for myself I find myself to be more Republican in my politics as their platform is more in the ways of the Lord.
