I don't know. He strikes me as a liar. He's doing all the same things he did before to build up his former church. The man seriously needs more counseling.

troyg "What the ECLA has done is told the truth and pointed out the obvious: the bible is used to reinforce old predjudices and hatreds. God gave all Christians the gift of discernment. The ECLA was, like many congregations, tired of conservative Christians failing to use it."

This has nothing to do with that at all troyg. Hatred of sin is something that God actually exhibits and we are to emulate that equl hatred of sin, which homosexuality clearly is according to scripture. You speak of discernment of all Christians, and only a true believer would understand that homosexuality is wrong, and that is clearly evident from the scriptures that it is. Even Jesus said so Himself.

What the ECLA has done is exactly what the author of the article has stated. Caved into social pressures and basically let everyone believe what they want with the body not standing firm on the Word of God. It's apostate now.

Bujo - It is true that Jimmy Carter has done much to help the poor and homeless. However, what other than this has he done for Christ? Also, considering that he supports dialogue with nations that despise our God (no, the Arab god is not the same ) is quite beyond me.

garageguy - "More importantly, when you use phrases like "an event that is attempting to promote the homosexual community" it shows you have no idea what you're talking about. No one "promotes" homosexuality."

Sorry to say, but that is a lie and makes you a liar for saying it. Of course homosexuality is promoted. Look at all the TV shows and movies that glorify such a lifestyle like "Will and Grace", Ellen Degeneres and her abominable show from the past and present, even on The N, which is sponsored by Nickelodeon on their show "Degrassi" shows homosexual teenagers and how it's all o.k. And lets not forget the "Logo" channel on cable, which is a network that promotes and exclusively broadcasts TV shows about homosexuality. The "come out of the closet" homosexuals that shout this mantra to those who have yet to openly declare themselves gay as though it's some type of battle cry. Please, homosexuality is promoted in our society so much it's ridiculous so please, be intellectually honest if you are capable.

While I am happy that this time common sense and the Constitution prevailed, I know that according to the Word of God, stuff like this is merely just the beginning of sorrows. This is the first volley into marginalizing Christians from government entities. I wouldn't be surprised if something like this happens or has already happened elsewhere in the United States.

People we need to wake up and realize that our Savior Jesus Christ is coming soon when stuff like this is happening.

  • Episcopal Theologians Study Same-Sex Relationships

    Love this quote

"According to Parsley, the project is "designed to articulate theologically a full range of views on the matter of same-sex relationships in the church's life and to foster better understanding and respectful discernment among us."

There should be ZERO same sex relationships in the church's life as it's a sin according to God in the first place.

Honestly, the Anglican church is simply trying to justify keeping congregants. Silly.

No need for you to celebrate Online. It is unfair to call Obama "godless" just because he doesn't agree with your interpretation of Scripture. There is no doubt if you listen to him speak that he has Christ's jurisprudence about him. Its a shame that you all insist on judging a caricature. "

The man has no evidence of Christ in him based on his fruits as outlined in Matthew. The man is endorsing a depraved and sinful lifestyle, something that Jesus did not do while on Earth. He preached against sin, this man preaches acceptance of sin. If he truly were Christian, then by now we would have heard him say something to the effect that he believes homosexuality is wrong. He hasn't. FACT

The only mission of the Church of Jesus Christ is to spread the gospel. That means the whole gospel, which includes what sin is and what is righteous. That means Rowan, that you must preach that homosexuality is a sin, and that no one can call themselves of God or of our Lord Jesus and be a homosexual. The interference of your denomination's mission is yourselves and lack of submission.

    Jason,

You are a thoughtful and courageous person. It can be a difficult transition for some, but, ultimately, there is great freedom and wisdom to be discovered in what is true.

    Respectfully,

an ex-Christian (among many, many others)

Freedom? What is this freedom you speak, because if it's not of Jesus Christ, then he basically just enslaved himself to sin. If you don't believe in God, you've done the same thing.

YOu live in a false secure fantasy. I can only pray that the both of you will wise up and realize that Jesus is Lord.

Honestly, seeing the word "gay" and "christian" used together is such a contradiction of terms. Nothing gay is anything Christian and vice versa. The Presbyterian Church frankly is no longer under the covering of God I would say. God cannot dwell where sin is.

Rick Warren, like Joel Osteen, says a lot of good things, but both speak in generalities. He should have spoken against that sin, but will likely state that he was trying to "have a dialogue" with the LGBT community. I agree that he should have told them according to scripture, you are not Christians, you are sinners and need to repent. If that's not the topic of conversation, then everything else was pointless.

biggie said: It is in the best interest of society to encourage gays to embrace monogamy and choose a same-sex life partner.

It is not in the best interest of society to encourage this. To encourage this type of sinful, disgusting lifestyle is to be at odds with God. You see, when liberals like yourself, and you aren't kidding anyone here as to who you really are, understand that true believers do not consider man's law supreme over God's, the sooner you'll realize that we as true believers will NEVER accept gay marriage, much less encourage it, the better.

Honestly, what a revolting situation. First off the idea of two men together, couple that with one being a "bishop", and couple that with the fact that there has been a moratorium placed on marriages by the Anglican church and yet even in the face of the Word of God, he continues to live a life of rebellion.

Brothers and Sisters reading this, I declare to you today, based on the witness of the Word of God, this man is an agent of the devil, a charlatan, and a phony. He is no Christian according to the book for First John Chapter 2:

3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

This man is a liar, and he doesn't worship the same Jesus I and millions around the planet know. If ever there was a reprobate mind that I ever saw, it's this man. Wake up world. The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!

ERV - WE would be upset for them handing out Korans in your example, but the difference between the Gideons and the Muslims handing out materials, is that one is handing out the real truth that sets people free, and the other(muslims) are handing out a book of hatred that is demonic and contrary to the Bible. IF we as Christians love children and honestly care about them, why wouldn't we make sure children are "Trained up so that when they are old, they will never depart from the Truth."

The establishment clause is 100% misunderstood and was contrived by men who frankly didn't know what they were talking about and had other agendas. These same men who decided that abortion is o.k. Anything that stands against the Word of God is an enemy of God. It's that simple.

Frankly, I don't put much stock in what TD Jakes says, considering that he has denied there is a Trinty in reference to God. Most likely he's like most other black pastors that get wrapped up in the limelight, especially when you have one of the largest churches in the state.

It's time people stop focusing on prestige, money and popularity and preach the gospel straight at folks.
