  • Christians Seek Supernatural Power to Bring Peace to US-Mexico Border

Here's a novel idea . . . Arrest all the soccer moms rushing to pick up illegal immigrants to do the kind of household chores that our teenagers used to do before the precious little darlings discovered they were the center of the universe and too good to dirty their hands with such tasks.

  • LGBT Employment Bill Struggles to Gain Support in House

What is Steve's (Sara's) true sexual identity? . . . Why in the world would it be any of your business? Do others have a right to decide what YOUR true sexual identity is? See how ridiculous that would be?

  • Gay Marriages Will Be Temporarily Honored in Deportation Cases, USCIS Says

DP - I appreciate your response, for you did put a lot of thought into it. The bottom line is, you're making assumptions about all gay people based on behavior, not on our identity. Sure, gay people sin (especially men!) but sexual sin isn't who we ARE. Just because we're gay doesn't automatically categorize us as sinners. Sure, gay people sin (especially men!) but sexual sin isn't who we ARE. Just because we're gay doesn't automatically categorize us as sinners. I think you would do well to get to know some gay couples, especially some long-time, Christian lesbian couples. They are very representative of who gay people are. Would you make sexual assumptions about them? If so, why?less

  • Gay Marriages Will Be Temporarily Honored in Deportation Cases, USCIS Says

Do gays concern themselves with the personal sexual lives of all heterosexual Christians? . . .No? . . . • Anti-Abortion Billboards Featuring Obama to Go Up in Chicago

The abortion debate has certainly changed. I remember back in the 70s, no one in my local Baptist church (small town Texas) was really against abortion. I even remember overhearing a group of elderly women in the church talking and one of them saying, "Just think if abortion was illegal. Just think of how many more Mexicans there would be!" . . . .Isn't it amazing how racist some conservatives we...more

  • 'Facebook Depression' Affecting Teens, Report Says

I remember the days when 'social networking' consisted of passing handwritten notes in the 7th grade that said, "I like you a lot." . . . Things have changed.

  • Is the New Testament Forged?

When the New Testament books were written, it was a very common practice to write "in the spirit of" an author that one admired or had contact with. For example, 2nd Thessalonians was NOT written by Paul. This is pretty common knowledge, even in conservative seminaries.

  • High Court Agrees to Hear Church Employment Case

It sounds pretty simple - - the Supreme Court will have to decide if she was a secular teacher or ministerial teacher. On another note, I would be curious to see if at any time did the school and the teacher have any dialoge about making reasonable accommodations toward her disability. That dialogue is as much the employee's responsibility as the employer's.

  • Driscoll: Without Jesus, You Go to Hell

Any religion that claims its god sends billions of innocent people to experience eternal torture is truly sadistic and a religion that I would stay far, far away from. Especially from an ethical point of view, I would have NOTHING to do with a religion like that. I'm sure glad that being a follower of Christ doesn't require me to believe that.

  • Pastor Denounces Ricky Martin's Concert, Open Homosexuality

How ironic that this female pastor is denouncing Ricky Martin, yet, by being a pastor she is choosing to ignore Biblical mandates (1 Tim 2:11-12). How typical. . . . Using the bible to condemn someone, yet not daring to follow it herself.

  • Ark. House Approves Teaching Bible in Schools

What's really disturbing is that many schools will probably get a football coach to teach this class. It wouldn't surprise me at all if that happened.

  • Bachmann's Potential Run Stirs Conservative Debate

Let's see how you feel when you or your children can't get any medical coverage because of pre-existing conditions. You can thank Huckabee for that. How would you feel then? • Target Sues Gay Marriage Petitioners for Disruption

In downtown Chicago, there are SO many various groups soliciting "surveys" and requesting donations. I was recently approached by a Greenpeace representative and I told her I was in favor of removing di-hydrogen oxide from Lake Michigan. She seemed very interested until I explained that di-hydrogen oxide is actually H2O. . . . Sometimes, you just gotta have fun with these annoying people.

  • Ark. House Approves Teaching Bible in Schools

"Altes, a Baptist, introduced the legislation in December and stressed that it would be taught as a history course." . . . A history course? What an INSULT to biblical authors. I'd really like to know what sort of theological and biblical training Altes has completed.

The vast majority of mental health professionals agree that these reparative therapies espoused by Exodus are ineffective and even harmful to individuals. Did anyone think that Apple decided to remove an app that endorses a practice that is HARMFUL?
