  • Salvation Army in Canada Clarifies: No Ban on Harry Potter Toys

Salvation Army also probably won't let any little boys have Easy Bake Ovens either. (I always played with my sister's when I was little -- she didn't know how to work the thing properly.)

  • Playing the Hate Card

I can't believe Chuck quoted Matt Barber and referred to him in this article. Matt Barber is just about the most hateful, virulent, LIAR there is. You should read some of his material. Barber obviously has some suspicious, obsessive issues and the fact that Chuck quoted him of all people pretty much invalidates Chuck's position in this article.

. . . Right. And who was the ONLY country to release this terrible weapon upon tens of thousands of innocent people? Perhaps the world community should demand that the U.S. give up all of its nuclear weapons. We have no right to expect other countries not to have them when we have been the only country to ever use them.less

  • Prop. 8 Debate Heard in Appeals Court

Right. If Cooper's going to use that argument, then post-menopausal women should be barred from marriage along with gays.

  • Prop. 8 Debate Heard in Appeals Court

If anyone hates gays, they should just have the backbone to admit it. But to cloak their bigotry and disguise it as Christianity is just about the most immoral, cowardly, and dispicable act I can think of. If you hate gays, then admit it and try leaving it at that. . . . In other words, MAN UP!

News Flash: In order to appease Republicans, Obama is finally willing to agree that he's a Muslim. Here's the story: WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) – In his latest effort to find common ground with Republicans in Congress, President Barack Obama said today that he was willing to agree that he is a Muslim.

Differences over his religious orientation have been a sore point between the President and his Republican foes for the past two years, but in agreeing that he is a Muslim Mr. Obama is sending a clear signal that he is trying to find consensus.

“The American people do not want to see us fighting in Washington,” Mr. Obama told reporters at the White House. “They want to see us working together to improve their lives, and Allah willing, we will.”less

  • Prop. 8 Appeal Goes Before Federal Court

Believer: You seem to be giving me a lot of power here. I as a person don't "uphold" anything as far as the courts or the will of the people are concerned. I do agree that the courts should be the ones deciding civil rights -- not popular vote. What would be the state of civil rights (especially for Blacks) if these decisions had been left to popular vote?

  • Prop. 8 Appeal Goes Before Federal Court

ProtectMarriage says "In America, we should respect and uphold the right of the people to make policy choices through the democratic process . . ." So, if the majority of the people vote to allow same-sex marriage (and eventually they will) would ProtectMarriage "respect and uphold the right of the people to make policy choices???"
