Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)
The U.S. sends such mixed messages to illegal immigrants. At the border, they encounter armed agents and barbed wire. An hour north, there are soccer moms rushing to pick them up to do the kind of household chores that our teenagers used to do before the precious little darlings discovered they were the center of the universe and too good to dirty their hands with such tasks.
According to the Massachusetts Bureau of Statistics, the divorce rate for heterosexuals is eight times higher than that of gay couples. This has been the case since gay marriage has been legal in MA. I'm sure that the reason for this is because the gay couples who got married had already been together for years and years.
Here's something really ironic. The Crystal Cathedral itself was designed by Philip Johnson who died at the age of 95 and was survived by his life-partner, David Whitney, of 45 years. On the crystal cathedral's website it states: "Designed by American Institute of Architects' gold-medal winner, Philip Johnson… Johnson has called the Crystal Cathedral his "capo lavoro"...the crowning achievement...more

I guess they don't mind the gays for designing their whole church -- just singing in their choir.less
It's insulting to hear the U.S. media calling this disaster "unprecedented." . . This damage, suffering, and loss of life is only a FRACTION of what the U.S. military caused to innocent civilians when they carpet-bombed over eighty Japanese cities, not to mention Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The biggest difference is that the former affliction was done on purpose.
Just ONCE, I'd like to hear some preacher say that he knows the world will end, say, four-hundred thousand years from now. Why do they always think it's going to end in THEIR lifetime? With all the disasters that have occurred throughout history and will continue to occur, It seems awfully egocentric to think God is going to end the world during the lifetime of these preachers. How auspicious to read this article. I had my first meeting today to begin the adoption process. I decided that it was time I quit banging on my own high chair about heterosexual couples who produce children that they cannot or will not raise, and raise one of these poor kids myself. (I've been a Big Brother for a number of years now.) It's time to give one of these kids a "forever home."
I recently met a same-sex couple who had been together for 49 years. They can't get married or even receive each other's Social Security survivor benefits. Yet, Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan could get married tomorrow if they wanted to. . . . What a messed up world.
So many people spout the line that "if you haven't accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as you personal savior" you will spend eternity in hell. . . . Let's think about that. That would mean that God has sent billions and billions of people to hell for all eternity because of something they had no control over. (People who never heard of Christ, people who believe it would be morally wrong to give up t...more

That would mean that God has sent billions and billions of people to hell for all eternity because of something they had no control over. (People who never heard of Christ, people who believe it would be morally wrong to give up their non-Christian faith, etc) Does anyone really believe that? If so, why? How could anyone worship a god who would do such a thing? For me, I'm glad that my faith does not REQUIRE that I believe such a thing.less
Here's a joke for you all. (It's time we lighten up a bit, no?) . . A couple was having friends of various denominations over for dinner. Their Catholic friends arrived first and asked, "Where's the liquor?" Their Baptists friends arrive next and said, "You're not serving liquor, are you?" Then, their Methodists friends arrived and whispered, "Where do you hide your liquor?"
That's fine for him and I sincerely hope that he and his wife are happy. However, no two people have the same psycho-sexual history or the same sexual orientation. I hope that as a counselor, he doesn't assume other gay people have the same sexual makeup as he. Mine was a very loving, Christian household with two nurturing parents, yet my identical twin brother and I are gay. I've never had any in...more

I hope that as a counselor, he doesn't assume other gay people have the same sexual makeup as he. Mine was a very loving, Christian household with two nurturing parents, yet my identical twin brother and I are gay. I've never had any inkling of what it would be like to be heterosexual, never had any temptation or attraction toward the opposite sex. I never did "struggle" with my sexuality because, innately, I knew there was never any moral choice involved.less
In Matthew 7:2-5, Jesus clearly condemns the self-righteous judgment of others. (He never mentions homosexuality at all.) Yet, I see so much of this judgmental behavior from so many who comment here – surely an anti-Christian behavior if there ever was one! Yet, I see so much of this judgmental behavior from so many who comment here – surely an anti-Christian behavior if there ever was one! Obviously, many of you have fallen into the “judgmentalist lifestyle” and still claim to be a Christian. Many of you are probably recruiting children into this wicked, destructive lifestyle of judgmentalism as well. I’ll bet many of you want to promote a “judger’s agenda” in this country. But surely, God will destroy this nation if we become tolerant of the lifestyle of judgers. . . . But there is hope! Many of you can be set free from the lifestyle of being judgers. Many of you might not believe this, but YOU WERE NOT BORN THAT WAY! My prayers go out to many of you that you will be freed from this evil, insidious, anti-Christian activity.less
My being gay does not make me "broken" but trying to live a lie as a heterosexual sure would. Being gay is part of my identity and I embrace it as who I am. As far as my sexual behavior goes, that's none of anyone's business -- just as a heterosexual's sex life isn't any of mine. For those who feel they have a need to judge me, perhaps you should look at your own misguided need to do so. And yes,...more
