Dr. Mohler, You really hit the issue right on the head. Darwin, after all, is not that great as a historical figure that brings us better understanding of nature like Newton. He is really more successful as a great propagandist. That is why the feature article here on the film "Creation" on Darwin is so misleading. Many modern theologians, even here on this web site, buy into it. What a shame.

Should she play some role as a spokewoman? I think she is 21 and should be given a choice. Surely she could be thrown into the wolves by putting in the spotlight. But seasoned politicians and older woman can be unfairly treated too. Think about Sarah Palin. What I say is that people should not send a signal that Christians are abandoning her.

It is alright to wrestle with this issue. The culture has changed so much that should I say, christians need to wake up to this new challenge. Let us reconstruct the situation. From what I can gather, Carrie Prejean took those pictures (apparently) with Victoria Secret. We do not know how those professionals there handle her as a teenager of 17. We also do not know how she felt between then and now. She should be given the benefit of the doubt.

The following is posted on the San Diego Christian College about Carrie Prejean before her being ridiculed by the radicals:

"Carrie Prejean is dedicated to serving the Lord and is not at all shy about her Christianity--even on national television. As the new 2009 Miss California USA, Carrie has shown that she can balance the pressures of national competition with her desire to share Christ's love with younger women.

San Diego Christian College Student - Carrie Prejean

Carrie has recently been serving with a ministry that seeks to reveal Christ's transforming love to women in the adult entertainment industry. Led by a young women who herself was delivered by Christ, the group "gets real" with these women and discusses their problems and life struggles. Carrie feels that she can connect with women her age and believes that God is using her to bring hope to others.

In addition to her passion for young women, Carrie has volunteered at the local International Ministry Center where she has helped refugees learn to speak English. She is also involved with Voices for Children, a mentor program for children in foster care. "I've been extremely passionate about that. I especially have a heart for helping young girls with low self-esteem. I want to focus on San Diego and give back to my community", she said.
Carrie is currently a student at San Diego Christian College, but decided to take the spring semester of 2009 off to prepare and compete in the Miss USA Pageant, which took place on April 19th. Her goal is to return to SDCC to finish her Bachelors Degree, and to later obtain a Masters Degree in the field of Special Education."

One more thing: In view of how the culture is moving these days, the christian church will see more, not less, spokeswoman like Prejean stands up for the Christian message. Mark my words, and this is good.

Sure, Carrie Prejean may not be a major league in Christian teaching. But she now has a platform that no Christian teachers have. A misstep 4 years ago should not automatically disqualify her. Christians can talk among themselves all you want. But many young people just have never heard of Anne Graham Lotz or whoever you have mentioned. This is politics, folks. The new world has come to the modern church.

There are many decent people in the gay community, but these radical militants from the left have given them a very bad name. Carrie Prejean is a beauty queen who is not perfect. With the current culture that teens are brought up, she is hardly immoral either. Just look at the swimsuit version of Sports Illustrative. Wise up. Let those who have no sin cast the first stone. Carrie can reach the young and bring them to Christ.
