Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)
I so agree with all those who have a problem with the term "it" that Groeschel spoke of. It almost sounds "new age" or as if "something other than God or the Holy Spirit" is at work. (Reflecting, I pose this question. . . . are Christian churches becoming more like God teaches in His Word or more like the world? My experience is that the mega churches in particular that are growing by leaps and bounds are compromising the truth to please worshippers and becoming more like the world. If that is the "it" - we do not want "it"! Just because masses of people attend a church does not mean they are on the right track. Always check whatever is being taught with the truth of the Scriptures! And I do believe we are walking a very fine line when it comes to creating idol pastors. Check out and see what some of those mega churches do with the people's offerings to God. Our Lord and Savior should be at the forefront always - He is the only true Holy one, without sin and with wisdom beyond man's comprehension. He is the one who sent His son Jesus Christ to provide forgiveness for our sins and make us acceptable for heaven. All praise to Him alone! Keep your eyes on Jesus.
No more Hallmark cards for me - I will not be buying them. I have a friend who makes beautiful cards who can help me out. I am extremely disappointed that Hallmark decided to make this anti-Christian choice. I pray they reconsider.

Senator Obama and the Democrat's choice to bring Christianity to the forefront during the convention appears more like the politically correct thing to do or the most advantageous to win the presidential race than a sincere desire to share their love and devotion to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and follow what He teaches in His Word. I think it is more a way to get votes which is quite appalling! It speaks volumes about his character. And we all know that Obama does not believe in some of what God's Word proclaims as truth. i.e. abortion, same sex marriage.
Wake up America - vote for John McCain, a person who truly loves his country and knows what it means to rely on our God!

If you get the opportunity, please review the forum again. Take a good look at the body language of each man - it speaks volumes about what is truly in their hearts and what type of leader he would be for our nation under God. Senator Obama looks down much of the time - what does that indicate? Is he telling the truth? Senator McCain looks not only at Rick Warren but at the people listening. His answers are direct, and he has no hesitation nor does he "beat around the bush" on any issue. McCain is obviously dedicated to his God, his country, and has tons of experience - he was wiling to suffer and die for his country - He deserves to be our leader. By the way, I do not see colors - nor should any of us. But I do see too many correlations between Obama and our foremost enemy - extremist Muslins who want to overcome the world and force their religion on everyone - they are evil to the core. How did McCain repond to the question about evil? Defeat it. We have no other choice for our country to remain free. It is McCain all the way for me.
p.s. Diana, why are you so angry?

My first response is what would Jesus do? Secondly, it is clear in the scriptures that one Christian should not take another Christian to court but settle these matters outside the legal system. There has to be a compromise here that will be acceptable to both parties - I pray the Lord will provide the answer and they will all have ears to listen. There are unbelievers watching this situation - may God be glorified! :-)

I strongly urge the Presbyterians to reconsider their position. Get out YOUR Bibles and study what God has to say about homosexuality and not being conformed to the world. We must not become like the culture around us but stand firm in the truth of the Gospel and what Jesus taught us. Please do not join forces with the other churches who are failing us and future generations. God will not be pleased with you. If you expect to be blessed by our Heavenly Father, you cannot take this stance. Please pray for one another and have ears to listen to His leading. You are going down the wide road which is pleasing to Satan. Christ is not there. He is waiting to greet you along the narrow road. TURN AROUND!

dongard,
Fortunately because Jesus Christ made the ultimate sacrifice for each of our sins, stoning is not required. If it were, there would be a long line of all of us who sin standing there waiting to be stoned - you see, your sin of homosexuality is no different than any sin I may have - all sins are alike in the sight of God. Although if you examine His Word you will see that He seems to especially abhor sexual sin. I think He has a good reason for that which I could write a book on. Let's put it this way though, the bottom line is He loves and cares for us as our Heavenly Father and He knows how powerful this particular sin can impact a life. He'd rather we not go that direction.
I encourage you to read the scriptures which will tell you that Jesus Christ died on a cross for the sake of all sinners - that's you and me - his death brings us hope of forgiveness here on earth and a promise of eternal life in heaven if we only believe in Him and accept Him as our Lord and Savior. It wasn't me or anyone else that said homosexuality is a sin. It was our Lord. That's what God said. I believe it, do you?

Praise God for John McCain who is standing firm on what God's Word teaches about marriage! We may have some hope yet for America's future if he is elected - we need a Christian leader who is not afraid to say what he believes and is on the Lord's side :-)

I agree that online4Him is right on and the opinion is based on the Holy Scriptures. What I want to know is why was homosexuality given such preference in the survey and included in the headline? It is a sin just like all the others, nothing more, nothing less. And any of us are cabable of it. . . . . read up on Sodom and Gormorrah - they weren't all born to be homosexuals. Sadly, our culture is turning the wrong direction - away from God and His Word. Wake up America if we expect God to really bless us.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
