    You are looking at Dawkins work and then generalizing. There is ample evidence for altruism through evolution. An individual may assist another without initial expectations but if the hand is not there when needed, it will not be there for the other when they need it again. Just because people misinterpret and misrepresent Darwin (as he was in the Scopes trial which was a PR stunt by the town fathers)just proves that they have listened to others and not done their own work and reading. This is one of the dangers that we as a society are facing. Listening to authority figures that distort the facts.
