The division is caused by the different interpretations of the Law. But the law has no place in christianity and it was never ment to. Christianity is the study of the teachings of Jesus who we claim as the Christ. The Apostle Paul taught that the Law was inaffective untill Peter approached him on the subject saying "we have many Jewish converts who still cling to the Law and you preaching against the Law is causing division and asked if he would be cleansed with them for 5 days so he would be more accepted by the Jewish Christians. Now that same law is used to point fingers at each other. No one even at the most perfect minute of their life has ever been close to being good enough to pass judgement by the law. If the law was enough we would not need Christ. But Christ teaches us understanding that causes us to obay the law automatically by changing the way we think. We who understand accept all who seek the understanding of Christ as brothers and sisters in Christ not expecting perfection but allowing them to grow in understanding as we did.

I have been reading some of these comments and so far I read that blacks voted for President Elect Barrock Obama because he's black, white people voted for McCain because he's white, Obama is unsaved, If you voted for Obama you are not a true Christian and my favorite African Americans have started Idolizing Obama instead oF God. What is wrong with you people. I am a 52 yr old white American made up of German, French, English, Irish, and yes 2 kinds American Indian. Almost every President we have had has been mixed race of one kind or another. What I saw this election was that the American finally lost his color. Since the beginnings, America has been seen by the world as the rich white man controlling events for his own benefit. Today the American Dream is a fact and the American will be seen as a multicolored people who have joined together under under the idea of absolute real equality for everyone regardless of race color or religion. It took alot more people than one race or just one issue to elect Barrack Obama as our 44 President. Wether we are Christian or not, we are Americans, everyone of us and the majority voted for Obama. I assure you it was not to support Gay marraige or to promote abortions. I seriously doubt Barrack Obama believes in killing babies. On this issue, as a Christian in a perfect world there is no place for abortion, but as an american can I force my beliefs on those who do not think as I do? So setting spirit aside, there are laws in the books to protect life. It is time for the medical society to establish a point of life so that we as christians can quit fighting politics and get on with teaching people why they shouldn't have an abortion or just teach them Christ so that he will keep them out of that situation. As for gay marraige I don't believe the Gay communinty has the right to change the religious perspective of marraige. I do believe in adopted family and that the love of that family unit is very real, so I do not have a problem of a family unit contract vs a marraige contract, but this can not be indorsed or sanctified by the church.
Let us remember that the word Christian means diciple or student of the teachings of Jesus. It does not mean Christ like. Thank God. If it did we would all be destined for Hell and final death. We can not help who we are because it is from the teachings and influences of our lives that has made us that way. Only the teachings of Christ can change us. Let us each give our brothers time to grow as we did and stop judging each other. If you judge your brother by the law then we are all condemed by the law, but Christ through grace allows us to change from where we are to where he wills us to be.

The question is, do we believe in after life. If we do then it is acceptable that in the afterlife there is a ruler. I accept that science has something to do with creation but why do we have to cling to evolution. If God and the afterlife exist, we have to assume he has technology, even before the earth was formed. We have only had electricity a few hundred years. Look where we have come in only a few hundred years. What will we know in 1000 yrs. If God is real then I would think that he has known of things not only that we have learned so far but also things we will learn in the future and has known all this before our existance so lets say for arguments sake is the 10000 yrs. What could we do in 10,000 years. We have broken down life into genes creating DNA and the genes have tags that activate them. All creation is 98% the same DNA make up. A tree is 98% the same as a human. We can clone a sheep and we find it hard to believe God could make a man with over 10,000 yrs of technology and something that is allready 98%. Gen doesnt start the 1st day till after the creation of light and dark on the earth, so who knows how long it took to that point, but I do believe it happened by design. I don't know what kind of medical advances in light technology or magnetics or chemical reactions might come about, but surely we have not learned all there is in 200 or so years.
I believe in the living God. I believe we are created by God in his image to be his decendance and placed here on the earth that he created for us. I will not water down the word as if it were a fabel. If God is real then I believe he has communicated his word to those who he will and that the scripture means that man was created in one day. (from the time the light shown to when it returned dark again according to the spinning of the earth). I do not Know how but I am only familier with 200 years of technology.

There is alot of disagreement on this subject. Although I know there is need for support for the church, I do not believe that God or his church need to appear as beggers. God is in control of all riches and will arrange for the support of his work. When you understand the teachings of christ, he will lead you to find the kingdom of god. Jesus said it is like finding the finest jewel and it makes you want to tell the everyone about it. When you understand God and his kingdom, you have a desire to help his purpose in any way you can. There are those in control of lots of money who also understand and have a relationship with the living god. There is money for gods works already in his control, and he has his obedient distribute his money as he needs for the purpose of his work. So in this truth I would tell you that If God leads you to pledge your support to one of his works then do not hold back. Other than this I do not know of any other obligation to give a portion of your income to an organized church group.

On the issue of abortion. The legalization has already been established with row vs wade. It is time to force the medical society to establish a point of life that is protected by law, then we can get on with teaching christ so that a person doesn't get themselves in situations that they would want or need an abortion.

I want to know when the democratic party became the party for immorality. I am a Christian and a registered democrat and when I registered to vote, the difference between dem and rep was, the dem believe in helping people build themselves up thus promoting small business and a wealthier middle and lower class. The rep believe in helping the wealthy to add more jobs and better pay for workers. The rep way of thinking just makes more low to medium paid jobs thus building the lower and middle class even bigger and making the rich richer, so I chose democrat. Its a sad day that I have to chose between right morals and right politics.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
