candle - you are 100%, absolutely, totally and completely wrong. The bible is perfectly clear from Genesis on that marriage is between a man and a woman. That is God's design. There is no other. Everything out of those boundaries is sin. That also means that heterosexual sex outside of marriage is also totally and completely sin and is out of God's design.

I agree that this administration is a disgrace. It seems as though none of the top cabinet heads have a clue. America is in the hands of amoral morons.

I agree with throughitall. I got about 2/3 of the way through this book and couldn't stomach any more of it. It may be fiction, but the portrayal of the Trinity is not just quaint, it's so far off reality and biblical truth that it is harmful. People will read this and believe this is indeed how the Trinity is to be perceived. There are dozens of segments in the story that just made me cringe. 'Emergents' are indeed setting us up to begin believing in an apostate gospel. I encourage everyone to read "Faith Undone" by Roger Oakland as he spells out just how serious this problem is in the church today.

You've got to be kidding. Surely you are not comparing President Bush to Mugabe. Please tell me you are not serious.

A reply to Phileo. You mentioned that Jesus preached love and then people turned from their sins. Actually, many times Jesus directly confronted the sin. For instance, the woman at the well, although Jesus was compassionate, he directly confronted her sin which was the reason she turned to Him. Think of the Pharisees, "You brood of vipers!" is direct confrontation of their sin of apostasy. The Bible IS offensive. But, you are correct in saying that the message of becoming right before God through repentance of sin has to be mixed with compassion. If we hate, we are no better than murderers (another message of Jesus).

It will become more and more of a threat to people of Christian faith to be able to utter or write anything that has to do with their faith. There are already laws that are restricting the full right of Christians to express what they believe. Although I would want these law makers to make sure that they are not providing an opening for extreme radicals to infiltrate, allowing the expression of faith that has been a part of our country from day one, Christian/Judeo faith to be expressed is to be applauded. If you can't agree to that, what are you afraid of? It takes a whole lot more faith to believe many of the postulates of scientists than it does to believe in a Creator. To be able to SAY that in a classroom should be the right of any child. If your child can't handle various points of view, then they are not ready for the world!

She did not make those comments in the context of a political speech. She made those comments to ministry students. Could it just be possible that a person of great faith can be a great national leader? Absolutely. If she's listening to God, she's listening to the greatest source of wisdom we have or ever will have. Keep it up Governor Palin!!!!!
Imagine, huh? Well, imagine standing before the Great White Throne judgment (Revelation 20) as an atheist.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
