  • Christian Children's Fund to Change Name

I am glad they have come clean that they are not Christian and do nothing to help these children accept the invitation that Jesus gave, 'Let the little children come unto me and forbid them not...for of such is the Kingdom of God."

Give our money to Compassion International. If it is a group founded by almost any other faith on earth they would be honored to hold that name up as the source of the giving. I believe this group will change it again in seventy years or let's pray another minister will begin a Christian Children's Fund

The gift we need to give to these who think that the scripture teaches irresponsibility with money and that we should welcome the entire world because they are 'strangers' is an education in finance, government, and logic. Since that seems impossible, let those who are still sane in this world do all they can to stop the tide coming into this country that is already bankrupt.

I would like to send these people to Mexico, Canada, India, China, and let them live there and try to get citizenship.

This has become a place that the insane are running the mental hospital.

If these people would just read Jesus' teaching on what happened to the man who took his master's money and buried it as against those that handled it wisely.

We are borrowing money for the 'strangers'. We are closing hospitals in Texas because we accepted the 'stranger' who were pregnant and came just to have a child in the USA. We still have the stupid law that if they are born here they are citizens...so now there is no hospital for those who built it and the citizens who need it.

Wake up before it is too late...if that is not already the case. Get real! I say to Mr. Anderson, he makes the name Christian one to be ashamed of for he is not in touch with reality...much less Truth.

  • Why Not Spend Christmas Out On A Limb?

    The Redeeming Risk
    Benario Overstreet

    Admitting disadvantage being small
Standing where crowding men stood tall
Zaccheaus hied himself up a Sycamore tree
The better the Lord to see.

At that height there was vouchsafed to him
The view according only to the mortals
Who climb out on a limb.

    Zaccheaus was astonished!
For down on earth his mind had never brought the thought to birth
That balancing at that precarious height,
Man sees but likewise puts himself in sight.

Above the crowding curious folk Eye counted eye
And it was Christ who spoke

"Come down Zaccheaus, I am going home with you."
Zaccheaus scrambled down more rapidly than he had climbed the tree.
He stood with Christ and what he knew he knew!
    His words were tumbling joy

"Half I own I will be employed to feed your poor
And wealth I haven't earned except by force and guile will be returned...
    Fourfold, is that your way?"
"You will be blessed fulfilling what you say."

Now if you would add a moral to the story let it be this.
No man afraid of Glory should climb out on a limb,
For at that height, Life shows in new perspective
And the sight is hard on wealth's self made pomposity
Let only valiant men go climb a tree!
This was given by Dr. Overstreet at a Methodist Youth Training session in Birmingham, Ala.
When Dr. Joseph B. Kennedy, Sr. was President of the Birmingham District Methodist Youth Fellowship.
She repeated it once over dinner before he drove them to the Airport. It has never been published and
It is believed his memorization is the only reason it was preserved.

    1 Corinthians
    Chapter 13
    1
1 If I speak in human and angelic tongues 2 but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal.

  • Rick Warren's Biggest Critics: Other Evangelicals

Thanks Tallguy 1000 "Evangelicals seem to be the Pharisees of our time." When it is not envy, then pride...that they are better or know more...those who say, Jesus did this and Jesus did that...none of us will ever reach that level of perfection. As an old fashioned Methodist I am, 'going on to perfection' but far from it and like them in need of Grace. However they forget to stop praying the Lord's Prayer, as I advised my Mother, a Sunday School teacher to do until she forgave "Effie" who had done her injustice. She did and they became friends. When you judge then pray that prayer you are praying to 'go to hell' for you are judged as you judge...as you prayed. This man has done more good than all those critics put together, in my opinion but one thing is sure. None of them will be leading our nation and our new President in prayer in January. Wonder why? I know...that is one of the things they envy. My Mother prayer, 'Mercy Lord...I need MERCY!" All you critics of Rick Warren join me in that prayer please. I want to see you in heaven.

It is so good to see Christians taking an interest in what their teachers are saying and holding them accountable. Were it Muslims there would be a really and a price put on his head. It is a blessing to see the sword cuts both way!!

it is more tragic that a fading reporter that once had manners and real gifts, comes not to need publicity so badly she stoops to this. I have seen the slip in her reporting but now I see how far it has gone. God help the lady. She does not even have the good breeding to respect our President and his wife, not to mention a two thousand old celebration that comes from the scripture in the first place. Could we pray she will just 'fade away' and keep her mouth shut till that blessed day.

  • China Dispels Olympic Bible Ban 'Rumors'

Having been to China 67 times since President Nixon's trip and as Chairman of the U. S.-China Education Foundation, Inc., sending 3500 students, teachers, professors, it could be I know something about the situation. Many who write do not. Let some Communist Chinese come to the USA and start passing out the 'Little Red Book' of Mao's teaching (which few people in China believe) most of you who are critical of the Chinese Government's attitude and laws would be first in line to throw rocks, raise all kind of noise asking they be put in jail. China does not belong to anyone but the Chinese. We have every right to let them know where we stand as Americans, as Christians, as free people. But if we believe in our own definition of freedom they have exactly the same right. Most of what I read is not serious thinking but just re-arranging and expressing prejudices. If anyone seriously wants to know what to do, do what I have done every trip. Take your Bible and leave it there. Also, think outside the box, outside your meager experience and look at the New Testament method of changing the world. Break the laws of Rome and you were whipped, crucified, or sent to jail. But the Christians of that day change the world not by talking or trying to Change the laws of Rome. They just outlived, out loved and out did the Romans, but in Jesus way. Try it. You will like it. And it works better than any other way...for He is The Way, The Truth and The Life. God bless America. God bless China for Christianity is growing faster there than anywhere in the world. Those Christians need your prayers. They are doing better there than we are here. What does that say?

  • Billy Graham to Mark 89th Birthday

    Wed Nov 07, 2007 4:59 pm Agree: 1   Disagree: 0

I have known Billy Graham since his days in Youth for Christ. When I brought the invitation from the Chinese Government to his home in Montreat, N.C. I called and asked for fifteen minutes. He said, "What about?" I said 'China.' He began laughing and finally said, 'China, talk about China in our house for fifteen minutes. How about five hours." Strange enough, we were still talking at the end of the fifth hour and Ruth walked us to the car and we were still talking as I began to say Goodbye." I wondered as my son and I drove down the one way road from their house on the mountain, just how he would preach in China. I say to akonda, in Beijing he preached the same Gospel he always preaches. He did not hold back at all. I think before you make decisions you need to know something. Billy followed the Holy Spirit and if he was not led to do what akonda thinks he should do, it would not trouble him one bit. The difference between the two is that akonda writes what he thinks, Billy preaches the Word and what the Holy Spirit leads him to do. It would take a book to even begin to open the truth about how many bridges this man has built and never has one person doubted where he stood on anything. He is not perfect but he is the best this last century has and this century now. I expect few if any will improve on his dedication and sincerity in the next ten generations.
God bless you Billy. Have a great Birthday. In China there are generations of people living because Ruth's father saved their lives in his Mission Hospital. Many more will reach heaven for the influence you had while in China and that goes for this entire planet. May this, with the pain of Ruth's absence, still be a great celebration for your high calling which is in Christ Jesus,

  • God Delusion Debate Pits 'New Atheist' Against Christian Apologist

    doc888 »
    Sat Sep 22, 2007 4:49 pm Agree: 2   Disagree: 1

Since I was a young atheist and finally became sane, I understand some of the dilemma the good Senator is going through. Of course since he does not know Him it is a bit impossible for him to understand Him. However it is difficult to understand how the good Senator can sue God, who accord to one of his personalities, does not believe He exists. I know...I know, all with an I.Q. over 100 are already answering that question. He might study Aristotle and his logic or Socrates would even be better, then he would pick up on the Major Premise and the Minor Premise Equals the Answer, etc. C.M.E.Joad, the great English philospher who wrote books on atheism and tried to buy them back after he became a Christian could help the Senator, that is if he is willing to be helped. But we understand Grandstanding and showmanship that becomes necessary when one does not know how to do what he was elected to do. But I believe his intent is good and that is worth something.
