My favorite show is The Rick Warren Show; the best part of his show is the faked sincerity. Ol' Rick Makes Elmer Gantry look like an absolute amateur. Tickets, anyone? It's one Hell of a show-you're guaranteed to get Rick-rolled!

True Christians will recognize Rick Warren for the homophobic, right-wing-pandering, money-grubbing, power-hungry, anti-science, blaspheming freak that he is and just love him anyway. :)

  • What did Jesus Mean When He Said, 'The Poor You Have with You Always'?

"What exactly IS it that you people don't understand about the Kingdom of Heaven? The K of H is just like the Country Club - membership is reserved exclusively for the use of rich, fat, white male capitalists. The redistribution of God's wealth and man's is not a problem, so long as it continues to go Up, to me, and not Down, to you. So sayeth the prophet of profit, Ronald Reagan."
That smug smile says it all.

It's all well and good to single out easy targets like fruits-after all, what's the point of being an Evangelical if you can't rejoice in being better than someone who is different? But we're overlooking another huge group of people to look down uopn. I speak of the filthy eaters of non-scaled fish and shellfish, who are an abomination to God and Vegetarians alike. Have you been to a seafood store lately? There are catfish nuggets for sale right out in the open, and not a self-righteous Evangelical Christian in sight to point the finger of condemnation. And bacon-wrapped shrimp served by divorcees in low-cut, tight red dresses? Don't even get me started! This must be the End of Days; there is simply no other explanation for this untenable relaxation of America's biblically-supported moral standards.

Oh my God, Bill O'Reilly is right. Christmas is once again under attack from...from...from literally dozens of Americans! Every one of us surely knows someone who knows someone who heard that very same thing on Fox News, so it must be true.

  • Pastor Who Helped Get 'Under God' in Pledge Dies

If we were to edit out all the chaff about flags, republics and nations under God indivisible, we'd be left with "I pledge allegiance to liberty and justice for all."

But who in America would support anything as radical and un-Christian as that?

  • How Do We Celebrate the True Meaning of Christmas?

I think the best way to honor Jesus and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas is to send a big fat tax-deductible check to The Graham Family of Evangelical Ministries, Inc. Don't forget that we're good Christian capitalists, so just go ahead add an extra zero.

  • Social Gospel is 'Marxism in Christian Clothing,' Says Warren

Rick Warren is a master of at least two things: pandering to rich hillbillies and marketing Rick Warren. Those alone qualify him to be white America's next great spiritual leader. He understands that the whole point of being an evangelical is to single out people who can be identified as different from us, to reinforce that essential "us vs. them" Christian mentality.

Pastor Warren has been clever enough to single out gays and pro-choice adults, so there will be plenty of people for his followers to look down on while they write their checks. You just have to admire the guy for figuring out a whole new profit angle in the God business.

Pastor Warren has been clever enough to single out gays and pro-choice adults, so there will still be plenty of people for his disciples to look down on. This is not rocket science, people.

Rick Warren is the real deal, a truly inclusive Christian. Not only does he have gay friends and eat meals in their homes, he seems to be genuine in his belief that blacks and women should be allowed to vote. Next he'll be saying that women have a right to privacy, even though we all know he doesn't actually believe that. You go, Pastor Rick!

  • Churches More Informal, Diverse than a Decade Ago

Wait just a minute - if Christianity grows to include too many people who are different from us, we will have lost the "us vs. them" mentality that is the whole point of being an evangelical in the first place. Rick Warren is clever enough to single out gays and those who are pro-choice, so his Church members still have a large group of people to look down on.
