jenny1235813 and ifeelfine72 bring up some great points seriously, as a gay Christian who has has some inkling of being gay since I was six, I must say that it is definitely not a choice. I did not one day at the age of two decide I would love women, actually, I never at all felt this attraction toward women. I have always wondered why many boys went after girls even at the age of nine. When I found out it was natural to have these feelings, my first instinct was God made me a mistake. I took a shoelace, hung it from the rung of my coat hanger within my closet. I closed my eyes and screamed I hated God, and tried there and then to end my life. Yet I felt God whisper to me all is alright, I felt at peace, that this was a personal journey. As a Christian it is the personal journey of me and him, I should not let any others who may not at all understand my journey try to influence me, humans are not God, except sometimes some humans like to take the role upon themselves. For some people just want to find some group they can alienate, for it gives them power. Is that not why hate exists, some people just want the feeling of superiority. Many Christians boast of how much God has graced them, and they belittle others trying to make themselves feel powerful and superior. Is it just me or is that more of a Satan attitude. ForJesus was no bible thumper. I believe Satan wants those who believe in God to try and belittle others, mark certain groups as untouchables. The example we set on the world is that we are an unloving religion. Most people I ask are not Christians for they do not believe in a God who would be so exclusive, a God who is supposedly loving, yet so many take upon the view of a God who just damns those to hell, and is not at all loving, a God Martin Luther fought against all the years back. So hey there may be those who disagree with me, in the next few posts I may have someone just posting a list of verses to make me feel damned and to give them a feeling of superiority because they may someone feel unloved and at conflict with themselves and question their own journey with God. I care not, I feel confident in who is whispering through the midst, for how could I believe in a God that would make me feel unworthy of salvation. A dangerous feeling which causes so many to end their lives, never knowing the true God who speaks to them, and only believing what the people around them who act as though they are God. Sometimes our journey as believers is a personal one, and while we need some guidance by means of Church, most of the way we act should come from above and not from Earth.

Ircory we need more people like you on this site, someone who speaks sense!
The Bible is real, but Harry Potter is fantasy. But just like Narnia and LOTRs before it, it rings with the same struggle of good versus evil that has been presented in many British classics like Beowulf. I love Harry Potter, but I know its only a story, I do not believe in it. I only believe in God. I'm now awaiting for some militant crazy hypocritical Christian who will try and perform an exorcism on me for reading Harry Potter. XD!

This sounds like an awesome idea! The Church of England is showing that they are not stupid like some! *Ahem*

Focus on the Family and Dr. Dobson are whackos. Seriously, the next hurricane and 9/11 were caused by the great number of people who have read Harry Potter. The worst are some of those Christians who literally act real prudish and judge others, I have had many Christians judge my faith because I read Harry Potter. Its ridiculous, many of these Christians are no different than the Pharisees, and the same ones who walk around saying they want all those struggling with homosexuality to die. If you want more people to walk with God, set an example, be loving, be less judgemental, and stop going on tirades about some stupid fantasy books, which millions of kids I know read, and none have shown any interest in witchcraft, THEY KNOW ITS FANTASY, and that only if one actually does witchcraft, and not one WHO READS HARRY POTTER, that is when it is a sin. Please we need more smarter Christians in this world, slowly Christianity is becoming this exclusive club, where all the member flaunt how perfect they are and decry other if they are not uniform with them.
This has become my new favorite pastime, all my relatives find the Christians who go hysterical over Harry Potter funny. They are a great source of entertainment. Artm, I am right now going to go outside and cast magic spells, write letters to Hogwarts, and try to become a wizard. Ummm... are you making fun of the intelligence of people, most people who have read these books, know they are just F.A.N.T.A.S.Y books, What does fantasy mean, not real, what does fiction mean, not real. Sorry but Harry Potter is not in the nonfiction section, unless you really want it to be put there. Most people know that the books are just fantasy books, that have many great messages about the struggle between good versus evil. Some of the articles on this site are so ludicrous they are funny, well mostly the ones pertaining to Harry Potter. *Goes to a more intelligent site called "Christianity Today" where many of the writers actually love Harry Potter"

Seriously, you are now my best friend. I'm sick of this unintelligent dribel coming out of the mouths of some many professed Christians. ITS A FANTASY BOOK! What does fantasy mean? IMAGINERY, NOT REAL!
BlackRose Warrior, you are seriously the smartest person on here. The others are the same people who when I was at the Christian Fantasy Book tour in July, gave some of the authors "the evil glare" just because they were writing Christian Fantasy. All you haters go read Dragons in Our Midst, Dragonspell by Donita K. Paul, The Door Within Trilogy by Wayne Thomas Batson.
Ignore the spelling mistakes in my below post. I am a huge multitasker who does too many things at once.
Okay I know what you are saying, but are seriously making me extremely perturbed by now acting like Harry Potter is some type of pornography. Just because I freakin read Harry Potter, does not mean I'm going to have sex out of wedlock. Also, when I read Narnia, I became obsessed with Narnia, I wanted to go there when I was little. In the end it heightened my interest in God. Harry Potter saved my life, by helping me to understand that in our world we will always be surrounded by dark forces. Are saying that is bad, You just said its bad to become obsessed. Harry Potter had definitely not made me a Wiccan, its made me stronger Christian with its them of love and honor and truth. Its not the nasty pornographic book that many Christian debunk it as. Anyways, Guess what I am obsessed with fantasy books. I can change your view of Fantasy books, please read Legends of the Guardian King By:Karen Hancock, Raising Dragons by Bryan Davis. My question is have you read Harry Potter? Most people who outright say its bad have never read it, they assume the televison evangelist who said it was bad, who probably did not read them either,

Children are not going to become witches just because of some silly book! Seriously, I agree with the Church of England, Christianity today, and the writer of Mugglenet. Harry Potter does have Christian symbolism, maybe not as blatant as say Narnia, but it does.

See, Good post! Why do your articles against Harry Potter have to sound so highly unintelligent, Stop ranting about Potter! There are christians who like Harry Potter, suprise suprise, some christians judge those Christians. Did God not say to judge! I'm sorry but I am sick of this unintelligent banter focusing on stupid stuff like a Children's book when there are people in Africa dying, and many countries where people do not even know there is a loving God out there.
I'm sorry but there is a reason why I read Christianity Today and not Focus on the Family, because Christianity Today has actual smart writers who have read the Potter series and do not act like Pharisees! I have read the Harry Potter books, never have I gotten into Wiccan. Never have I gone outside and waved a wand screaming incantations. Yes! you may all think I am hell bound because I read Harry Potter. I'm sorry I am just sick of how much people go to scream their views in other people's faces and become all militant to get the books out of schools. Its absolutely ridiculous! You people are worse than Professer Umbridge herself. You people make me laugh, you are no different than the school Eustace and and Jill had to attend in Narnia. CS Lewis meant the metaphor of the school making the students learn useless things to parody the fact that some Christians do not want their kids to have imaginations. Also, you know there is such thing as CHRISTIAN FANTASY. Its some pretty awesome stuff, even though people look down on it just because it has dragons and fantasy worlds. Instead of boring your children by devoiding them of imagination, give them something to read. God gave us imaginations for a reason. Of course it can be used for bad, yet anything can be used for bad. Give your children Door Within By Wayne Batson, Dragons in Our Midst by Bryan Davis, Dragonspell by Donita K. Paul. All these are wonderful books that are fantasy, and contain Spiritual truths. Fantasy is not bad! Harry Potter is not bad, it has the same good versus evil element as LOTRs and Narnia. Why are you people so militant about it! Its just a book! If you are wasting your life trying to get these out of schools and verbally attacking someone if they are Christians like me who like Harry Potter, then please go out help the poor, go to other countries and show God's love. God does not want you to turn off Christians by making people think all Christians are all hotheads who think anything with mystical beasts and talking animals are that of Satan's creation. I respect those who share different opinions than me, but not those who are hotheads and want everyone to believe what they believe. I like Harry Potter, you may not, and you are not going to stop me from reading it. God never said it was a sin to read Harry Potter. Its only a sin IF YOU P...R....A...C...T...I...C...E.. Witchcraft, see the word practice. Sorry but reading Harry Potter does not mean you practice Witchcraft. For all you hotheads here are some articles written by Christians to ponder, and no they are Christians, not Wiccans.
