As an Anglican (who attends an Episcopal Church in my area due to not having another choice - what? Presbyterian, Methodist, United Church of Christ are choices, lol?) I can assure you that our congregation does not follow what this heretical presiding bishop says - I honestly do not think she understands what being a disciple of Christ means! Yet, we are quite devoted to the idea of being loyal to our tradition (which BTW on their face are biblical) - thus we are at loggerheads with the body politic of this straying church leadership. I have not read her sermon BUT I HOPE my rector has and that such heretical messages will be soundly rejected.

Flagged as inappropriate. show I am astounded that this murderer of sixty-thousand babies has found solace with supposed people of God. His killer will face the judgment of our law, but Tiller the Killer must face God's wrath and justice - I would not want to be in his shoes. As for those on this site who bemoan the killing of GT, I doubt you know how many lives George wrecked in addition to murdering their children. I know one personally and she rejoices that many children will be spared the horrible death meted out by someone sworn to save lives not destroy them. I wonder too about Tiller's family and church congregation. How spiritually debauched they must be to have known his reputation and fruit and yet profited by it. It makes the skin crawl to think that people professing the name of Christ would sit next to or speak with someone with so much blood on his hands. Where was the justice, the chance to live for the little ones he destroyed? I don't presume to know the heart as God does, but I must believe that George Tiller is now burning in the hottest part of hell for his hatred of his fellowman. May he never RIP. - A Bible-believing Anglican hide
Jesus rose on the third day. And the Holy Scriptures indicate it was on the first day of the week that the women came to the empty tomb - Saturday having been the Sabbath it would have been ritually forbidden. Jesus was entombed on Friday (1st day), Saturday (2nd day), Sunday (3rd day). While the Bible is not exact on the hours I have a hunch that Jesus was dead for 40 hours having given up the ghost around 3 in the afternoon (at the ninth hour the earth shook and the veil of the temple was rent) and rising from the dead around 7 am just after daybreak. But three days did not necessarily mean 72 hours like we would count.

Other than to preach the Gospel to people on their way to eternal damnation, we have no business dialoguing with islam. That is a false religion responsible for countless millions of lost lives thrust into perdition. Our Christian leaders should not afiirm any aspect of such a deadly institution. And this is not even to address the horrible religious law of islam that relegates women to third class status and requires killing of its enemies. Christians should stick to presenting the Gospel of a living, loving Christ, not accommodation or acquiescense to falsity.

Barak Hussein Obama is a disapointment because he imbibed twenty years of racist hate to taint his thinking, his philosophy, and his spirit. Look at his actions and his words and you see rotten fruit even as his outward appearance is smooth and cultured. Think of white sepulchres - clean on the outside, but corrupt within. If this is the result of the 'black church' in America then God help us all because we will NEVER get past this racial divide this side of heaven. I think the false prophets and race baiters who praise and support Jeremiah Wright (and his influence on BHO) have other matters in mind rather than the work of preaching the Gospel. I am a white man who wanted to vote for BHO because I thought change could come about, but now I can never vote for such a fraud.

Someone asked about homosexuality as being or not being a choice: I personally can testify it is a choice. For many years I chose that lifestyle and finally, I realized what a deadend it was and chose to be straight.(BTW, the overwhelming majority of homosexuals I got to know are desperately unhappy in their lifestyle but are afraid to even attempt to change). What I hate about Christians in most of the mainstream church is that they fawn over the issue as if being homosexual is brave in such an intolerant world - this makes it feel to me that I am NOT supported in my endeavor to pursue a pure and biblical lifestyle. In other words, supposedly well-meaning Christians are harming me and trying to justify their actions by calling it tolerance. It is a tolerance for death and nothing else!
As to why anyone would choose the life - homosexuality is seductive and it feels good to have a fraternity of like minds always affirming your choices. But afterawhile the lifestyle is so VERY beguiling that only the strongest person can will themselves out of it. And then it indeed seems that you really didn't have a choice but that you were born with it. Nothing could be further from the ttruth. And the studies that show otherwise fail to take into account this aspect of self-fulfilling prophesy.
The bottom line however, is that if one decides to rationalize homosexuality he can find myriad studies that support his choice. Only one study counts in the end.

What parent would leave a child behind- there is NO excuse for it from anyone and I have zero Christian charity for those who break the law and then abandon a child - whom she has USED - in a political protest.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
