The God of the Bible does in fact hate both the sin and the unregenerate sinner (psalm 5:5, psalm11:5). Even so, man is not God that we can both love and hate someone. Therefore, we are called to love in the truth of the Bible and to hate the deeds that God hates as they are written. The practice of homosexuality would apply here just the same as adultery would. The Bible defines it as a detestable, or abominable, disgusting thing in Leviticus 20:13. Furthermore, in Galatians 5:19-21 we read that the sexually immoral will not go to heaven. The Greek word for sexually immoral is porneia which speaks to illicit sex or sexual acts outside of marriage. Thankfully the Bible also defines marriage very early on in Genesis 2:22-24 as a union between a man and a woman. With this in mind, whether someone believes homosexuality to be a sin or not, it is clearly sex outside of marriage as defined by the Bible and the person who practices these deeds will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. If you love the Jesus of the Bible, keep his word (John 14:23).
