Bottom line: The government is a lousy parent and it shows in the public school system. It is the parent's job and prerogative to select their method of education for their children, public, private or at home. A parent's education doesn't have any bearing on the final education level of the home educated child.

Most states already have laws in place for educational neglect and the few parents that do not take care of their children. Why penalize the majority when there are laws to deal with the few?

We are not a democracy.. We are a constitutionally limited republic. If we were a democracy, there would never be a question about gay marriage since the majority would appose it. That being said, marriage is between one man and one woman. How simple is that? They have civil union laws in that state for other 'options'. This is not a fight over fundamental equality. It's a fight over nomenclature.

'Freedom and liberty does not mean you have the right to impose the way you want to live on others."

Their policy is clear and reasonable and the same across the board. If it was a no dog policy, would you consider it discrimination? How about a policy of no one under the age of 21? There are hotels with a 'no children' policy.

In an effort to separate Church and State, they are interfering with a person's right to their faith and the "free exercise thereof".
