Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)
To Hawkins and Wills: what kind of 'journalism" is this? In fact, it is advocacy.
The Sen. belonged for 20 (twenty) years. No clue Pastor is a racist? Sorry, Sen. Obama, you lose in the discernment column. The first-term senator may not be fully qualified for the Presidency.
To Hawkins & Wills: to assert the Italians are just as bad really doesn't convince me. Moreover, to trot out a pet priest means you've never watched the videos of Pope John Paul II in Latin America.
To all those sad souls, despairing souls who are willing to vote for someone "not quite as bad as those other guys": will "not quite as bad as those other sinners" really cut it at the Pearly Gates?
To Hawkins & Wills: whatever the people who attend the same flawed church say in defense of their fellow congregant, the rest of us know how to take that even if you don't. To pitch denomination against denomination merely plays into the hands of the Junior Senator from Illinois's hands. sow dissension among the believers. I (as in Sen. Obama) will deliver them.
Please, people!
Sen. Clinton's campaign is the source of the rumours that Sen. Obama is a muslim.
Right-wing talk radio is-- over and over-- pointing this out, and, moreover, inviting characterization of the Rev. Wright's "Christianity".
Note that whether Sen. Obama thinks he is a muslim (The word means, "one who submits to God's will) is not diagnostic. It is sufficient to say he is the MOST left-wing Senator in the United States, even to the left of the repeated-diver Sen. Kennedy, even to the left of Sen. "I served in Viet Nam" Kerry. Like tyrants and oligarchs he mistrusts The People, whom Our Creator created in His image.
He is the flimsiest of candidates. He is more fair-minded than Adlai Stevenson. he is more anti-war than George McGovern. He is more vitamin-deprived than Jimmy [sic] Carter. In fact, he lacks even the ameliorating experiences of attending the Naval Academy and having been a farmer, even a peanut farmer. He wants to raise taxes more than Walter "Fritz" Mondale. And he would look sillier in an Army helmet than Gov. Dukakis (R.I.P.). On the othe hand, his dad wasn't one of the biggest segregationists in the U.S. Senate, and he did not grow up in a hotel suite in Washigton, D.C., like V.P. Gore. Still, though, Michelle Obama is not even close to Tipper Gore!

I don't like this teacher. He doesn't sound, in the statements the plaintiff quotes, like a fair-minded person at all. As a 53-year old man who meets the public every day of my working life, my opinion is that the teacher looks like he has at least one problem. Take it for what it's worth, but I trust my hunches.
Oddly, in my opinion, if this were an isolated incident, it would redound in favor of the defendant. On the contrary, every fair-minded person has encountered this sort of privileged belittling of non-elite ideas, whether they be in the area of religion, politics, or science. Al Gore declaring the impossibility of reasonable opposition to his global warming scam comes to mind. (Three words, Mr. Vice President: "continental ice sheet".) The would-be elites have taken their positions in hopes of achieving social status, and they dare the rest of us to hold to what we know is true in the face of socila and political belittlement.
Thus far, the balance of power has prevented them from rounding us up for the re-education camps.

On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
