Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)
Prophet:
The fact of the matter is that the world has been a fallen and broken place since the fall of Adam in the garden. When someone tries to change something he will be put at odds with the norm. A family that has believed the same thing for centuries and find that their son has changed from Islam to Christianity will be put into turmoil. The son will be at odds with his father and mother and most everyone he knows. Jesus said "A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house."(Mark 6:1-6) Especially with those who knew them before their conversion. Drinking buddies, ex-girlfriends, and family members who remember all the messed up stuff they did before their conversion.
This mud-slinging is entertaining at best. John McCain is too old. Barack Obama and Sarah Palin are too young with not enough experience. The country is screaming for change. What exactly is it that everyone wants? One of the shriveled up politicians that have been in Washington for the last 20 years. You know the same ones that made all the promises and delivered nothing. Not one step closer to supporting real Immigration reform. Not one step closer to solving the oil crisis. These were issues in the 70's and still nothing has changed.
I think it is strange how now people wants to "worry" about Sarah Palin's family. I am a man and I think that the tone is extremely sexist. Her husband looks like a capable guy and has held down the fort. Or is it better that a man do all the heavy lifting and let wifey do safe (-read submissive) work at home. This woman has five children and still holds the highest elected office in her state. John McCain has a son in the war and was himself a prisoner of war (5 years). I believe he has a little more knowledge on the subject of war than Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
But I digress. I believe we need an exit strategy for Iraq as well as a team of people that can actually balance the budget and cut taxes however the American people still won't vote for that type of ticket. Any talk of cutting "entitlement" programs gets you laughed off the podium. There's always 2012....
One cannot call themselves followers of Christ when they do not follow the teachings of Christ. It one thing to admit your a sinner and strive to change, it is another thing entirely when you strive to qualify and gain acceptance of the sin. It is also a sin to mislead people into believing that the word states something when it in fact does not. Leviticus 20:15 specifically speaks on this issue as well as most combinations of unpermitted sexual relations. Romans 1:26-27 does as well. The Bible is clear. It is not vague or obscure. You cannot pick and choose which pieces you want and still expect to have a place in the Kingdom. If a parent asked a child to do certain things of importance and the child only did those things it saw fit to do what might the parents reaction be. Not positive especially if the matter was of significance. The statement is made that Christ went into seedy places to hang out with the outcasts. This is true. He went to love and change them. He also said "Go and sin no more". He does love the sinner and hates the sin. He does not say the sin is alright. He never once did. When people say that they believe in Jesus and so that will save them they are mistaken. Satan believes in Jesus. He CHOSE not to trust in or follow the laws of the Father. What about asking for forgiveness of your sins and repent of those sins.
The previous verses prove the sin.
John 3:16-21
"16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."
Everyone that doeth evil hateth the light. Jesus is referred to as the light of the world. You cannot proclaim to love Jesus and walk in the dark. Because the light (the truth which is Jesus) will expose the darkness (evil).
Might I point out that Barack Obama also has no foreign policy experience or no national experience. Most Presidential candidates don't. However she has governed a state and has been mayor of a town. Barack Obama has not "governed" anything. All decisions he has made were subject to the majority in the councils and boards he has been a part of as well as being a Senator.
There is no doubt that this election will be one for the history books. Either the first African-American as president or the first woman as VP.
This is fact.

You hear that sound?...... Could it be the sound of heaven's brass section warming up?
Luke 17:2 "It were well for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble."
I watched the movie as well. The really only funny part of substance that I could laugh at was when Evan told Morgan Freeman (God) that building an ark wasn't part of his plan. One thing that I could appreciate was the absence of profanity or scantily clad women. I think a big part of the problem was that people have a hard time watching Steve Carell because he has done such risque material. His delivery was funny but the material lacked the heart and accuracy. The Lord would do something that to man would seem overly aggressive and yet overly dumb. I would not say that the Lord would not do this or that. The Lord could've killed every person with disease but Noah and his family. He could've done it any way of a million without Noah having to break a sweat. God chose to do it his way for his plan and purpose.
The movie is entertainment. Biblically accurate not even close. Would I watch it again? No. It just didn't do anything for me spiritually although it did have a good message. It may be a seed planter for the unsaved to evaluate their priorities in life and perhaps that will draw them into a relationship with the one person who hasn't been mentioned in either movie.... Jesus Christ and a relationship with him.
That is the real issue.

"I say whatever can be used to bring people to Christ, use it."
Is Christ not enough? Can a redeemed soul not reach out to a lost soul to convey hope? Christ is sufficient. He always has been. He always will be. Why do we believe that we can compromise the principles of the Word of God and then claim that we are doing it for him (?) Doesn't anyone else see that?
'God has made it plain that He abhors violence, that it's sin, and that it causes Him pain.'
"You definitely did not get that from the bible... senseless violence he does not tolerate, but violence is an inevitable human trait. We must use violence for certain things such as wars, capital punishment, etc."
You said it "senseless violence he does not tolerate". Our God is a sovereign God. Yes, man is inherently evil and violent in nature however these are sins that are a part of our original sin. We are to reject this violence. As far as war. We do not pray for war. War happens as a result of sin. It's man's inability to follow the letter of the law in the Word of God. We must pray for a stop to war however we must prepare ourselves for when evil men come to kill and destroy that which is sacred (according to the Word of God). Yes, violence will continue to happen until he returns to judge the living and the dead but we are not to promote violence. That is an abomination. Capital Punishment is not done violently. It is performed after a court has convicted the individual and the sentence is carried out somberly. Even in the case of electrocution. A bag is placed over the face as to not exploit the horrific face of the condemned.
Gratuitous video violence is just as evil as the real thing. We are guilty of adultery for looking at a woman with lust without actually entering into an affair with the women.
"He said to them, "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one." Luke 22:36
Why would he tell people to buy a sword, if not to use it? at minimum for defense of some kind.
To protect that which is holy. Our family, our friends, and family. When we are in defense of others we are justified by the Lord. We come to the defense of others who cannot otherwise defend themselves. We are called to purge evil from our homes, our neighborhoods, and our country. For that we must be prepared. Once again we don't pray for war but we will fight if evil men come looking for it. That is completely different from playing "games" that numb us to the horrors of the slaying of people and the bloodshed that ensues. Using a depiction of human suffering and imminent death as a form of entertainment? Does it sound like a "good" activity for a person claiming to be a follower of Christ?
Youth Ministry is relatively new in comparison with the overall history of the church. Within the last 30 years have we had this position being added as a paid staff position that has more demands sometimes than that of a pastor. Youth Pastors are normally young individuals early in there adult like unlike the first youth pastors about 30 years ago who were started in youth ministry as a way of apprenticeship after seminary. Youth workers today are not normally given the respect or resources necessary to do the job. They are working with kids that just want to have a good time and don't want someone who is going to stay after them about being a Christian. If the kids start saying that the pastor is bad because of the lack of fun factor then the rest of the church portray him as a bad pastor. Also these individuals are normally newly married and trying to start families and build a stable home of there own which requires time and money; both of which are in limited supply.
If a church wants the services of a youth minister to grow the youth in the church then the church needs to support the minister, give the minister the resources to do the job, and ask that the parents do the same.

I cannot as a matter of faith and conscience cast my vote for any individual who is against the Lord. Abortion is the willful extermination and murder of innocent blood. I will not vote for a party to come in and pick apart our military defenses because they never having served don't see the point of defending us. I cannot support any candidate that would suspend my constitution rights by forcing me and my children to compromise my free exercise of religion and our desire to be Christian and then give other group exclusive rights and privilages to promote theirs.
We are truly getting to a time where we may no longer be able to vote for the lesser of the two evils considering all the choices are wearing horns.

This theologian needs to file a lawsuit against whatever university he attended for a full refund plus damages. Then he needs to find out what "translation" of the Bible he is reading is written in English or Pig-Latin. He must've missed one of the interchanges....possibly?
"Rogers says those who argue that the Bible condemns gays and lesbians are taking biblical literalism too far and feels there is excessively negative words in the religious community, according to the Journal-World."
Biblical Literalism. Uhhh Yeah! The Bible is literal. It always has been literal. Man choses to make these issues out of basic principles. Man laying with Man is an abomination! Leviticus 18 lists just about every combination one can think of what not to do regarding sexual relationships. The whole of the Bible could be summed up in a pamphlet. God is Love. He Loves us and wishes for us to live in his fullness and provides for our redemption. Even Revelations is this same message. If this professor can't believe in literal meanings in the word on basic issues that what does that say of his faith or his witness? If you can't believe in the literal translation than every single scripture must be mind-numbingly boring because you can't really believe what it says. It might be out of context. When the word says that Jesus loves us could it mean something else?
I hope this guy gets straightened out before he steers anyone into the pit.

Firstly I believe the word is clear when it states that we are to put no unclean before our eyes. Killing, Death, Violence, Blood & Gore. If God is Love and this is the opposite of Love than what does that make it (?)
Secondly, having been a serious gamer for years I have come to a realization (and there is scientific evidence to back this up) that just as with pornography; violence releases chemicals in the brain that lead to aggression as well as the competition especially in multiple player online gaming. Competition isn't evil. Violent aggression is.
To act like playing this game is good as a way to bring youth to the church is sending the wrong message to young kids (or teenagers) that you can be a follower of Jesus Christ and still live as the world does. This completely contradicts the Bible. Ok. I can grant that it probably would draw kids to play the new game but what kind of meaningful spiritual experience can come from a game that is based in fantasy? How can you call someone to be Salt & Light to a dying world and allow them to believe that it is still acceptable to be part of practices that are clearly outside of the word. It is like saying that I could bring pornographic materials into the church to show young men that these types of films objectify women and create in our mines an unrealistic image of women in general and of marriage that will only end up in disappointment and anger. Or how about drugs to show kids first of all what they are but then as well as we shouldn't do them because not only is it illegal but it destroys the Lords temple and brings you out of fellowship with the Lord. It is amazing how Satan can spin these concoctions and then get the Lord's own to carry out this wickedness. How about Christian movie night or how about one of the many games that are not violent. How about a sports game or maybe a retro game from say Atari. Pac-man Playoffs? :)
Homework needs to be done here. The hate crimes legislation bill as its were has already been abused in Pennsylvania ( Philadelphia 11). Although it is a piece of state legislation it is written almost identically as the federal version which in effect has wording that if a statement is made and an individual has a "belief" that they are in danger it is a hate crime. New statements made on the federal bill is linking it with terrorism. It is absurd because laws already exist that protect ALL people regardless of race, gender, or sexual preference as well as religious preference. A bill that already protects AMERICANS.The first amendment right was discarded and a bill that panders to a specific group was adopted. They were arrested and charged over words not actions. The case in point has already been made. Schools are now trying to teach small children of the need to explore their sexuality.

Why does my child need to be indoctrinated by their regime? A captive audience of young and delicate minds. We are told that we are the intolerant ones. We allegedly are forcing our way of thinking on them. How is this true when you not only go after us by attempting to get special rights and concessions as well as the assault on the innocence of our children? No school even teaches sex ed at that young of an age let alone issues of moral conscience. The children are told that orientation is not choice. That also is absurd. Check back to the earlier parts of the last century and even in our recent history. Where were the gays and lesbians? Now all of a sudden there is a surge? Now there is an outcry? Where were all these Homosexuals & Lesbians in the 60's when we were supposedly in a sexual revolution? Now with all of the media that has come out over the last thirty years that has gotten more liberal with morals and has gotten filthier with profanity and sexuality, murder and rape. Now all of a sudden there is a genetic component that has affixed itself to the DNA of certain individuals. A sort of selective evolution. The only thing missing in the equation is the science to back it up being that when a supposed evolution occurs it occurs because of an environmental stimuli that forces a survival mechanism to take hold and reconstruct a species for the purpose of sustaining its existence. The problem here is that all people have not changed and I doubt ever will as well as when there is no procreation the species dies. That is deconstructive to the process. Homosexuality is a choice.
Part II
The problem is that they want to recruit and they want legitimacy to what they are doing. Why? What does it matter if we (Christians) are on board with their program? They want same-sex marriage. This completely boggled my mind when I heard this. Why would they want this thing. The very institution of religion that they hate because it is oppressive to their choice and they want to take on the chief ritual of marriage. Once again why? It does not legitimize them in our eyes or in the eyes of GOD. It is meaningless in the fact that it is not at all about the spiritual bond between a man and a woman to become one flesh and one mind for the purpose of worshipping GOD in all that they do and procreating children to teach and to perpetuate the family line and the faith. They are not on board with what we are doing nor do they want to hear what we have to say. They challenge everything we stand for but they want to take our most prized ritual and desecrate it. May GOD help the man or woman who performs such a blasphemous act of abomination.
We do not hate homosexuals. We disapprove of what they do because it is against the principles laid out in our Bible. Just as we disapprove of murderers, rapists, & thieves as per the guidelines in what we believe. The Lord will judge all based on HIS standard not that which we have made up for ourselves (Idolatry). That is our belief and we are entitled to it

It all comes down to a simple irrefutable fact and that is that these people have chosen to live for the flesh and of worldly pleasures than that of truth, respectability, and righteousness. They tell everyone that there is no absolutes, no guarantees yet when their sons die of drug overdoses and their daughters are having abortions, and their marriages begin to crumble they look at everything and everybody else to blame (eg. GOD). They want to remove all notion of just simple morality let alone the sovereignty of our Lord and Savior. These types of people are the same types that could have the rapture and all the tribulation go by with a minute by minute breakdown and will still deny the Lord's existence as well as state " Well if GOD was such a loving GOD...." as to say that they even have an inkling of knowledge of the word of GOD to say that GOD is powerful enough first to do what he desires and that we are subject to his plans and that his Love is infinitely greater than his hate for us.
Flat out perversion of the Word of God.
A quote:
"Because when you know who you are and whose you are, I believe it gives you that inner fortitude and that strength to face whatever life situation you may have to go through," said White on the show.
"inner fortitude"? Could that be the Holy Spirit and and faith in Jesus Christ?
"When I don't understand life, I'm not going to draw back. I have decided to do one thing even my mind doesn't comprehend it draw nigh," she said.
Jeremiah 17: 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Psalms 119:105&106 thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments.'
"I believe when people can find out who they are, then you can be equipped to handle life's situations."
"White talks about discovering "who you are in Christ."
Hmmm, apparently she still hasn't found out who she is IN Christ because Christ would have no part of this. Billy Graham and Ruth Graham weren't even the same denomination. Mr. Graham said this:
Ruth was my life partner, and we were called by God as a team, Billy Graham said in a statement. No one else could have borne the load that she carried. She was a vital and integral part of our ministry, and my work through the years would have been impossible without her encouragement and support." They got it.
Her brand new book is : You're All That!: Understand God's Design for Your Life
I think she needs to through that in the trash can and pick the only book that matters and that is the Word of God. I think it is all pretty much laid out in there.
Randy White is also lost.
"Randy White, who took "100 percent responsibility" for the split, will continue to lead Without Walls as senior pastor."
So basically the Word of God is less important than his paycheck? This is what happens when you don't have any accountability in ministry and people in leadership with no spiritual integrity. Paula White basically states that God made her do it and that its so that she can relate to divorcees. Wouldn't and hasn't God brought divorcees out of the bondage that lead to that an gave them salvation. It is like Billy Graham saying that he became a drug addict so he can relate to drug addicts?
"Still, with her divorce taking place in the public eye, White said, "Everything God brings me through ... I promise Him, I will hold my hand out to someone else and allow myself to say 'He lifted me through this, He'll life you through this.'
"That's what I think it's about. It wasn't simply for me."
Unfortunate & Sinful. I hope they don't drag anybody into the pit because of this.
As far as Juanita Bynum. She is justified. No one should hit a women regardless of the argument. She has every right to separate herself for her own safety and her life. Convenience would be to stay because of familiarity.
Part I
Mister Colson has an excellent point. I have great admiration for Chuck Colson. He received Christ in Prison and hit the ground running. The quote from besamo805x is confusing.
"If you truly want to see disparate people come together to form a larger community, wouldn't it make sense to focus on a common goal to reach regardless of one's culture or beliefs? That sounds more like a Kiwanis or Rotary Club to me."
It sounds to me like you answered you own question. "focus on a common goal to reach regardless of one's culture or beliefs? That sounds more like a Kiwanis or Rotary Club to me." I did not see that as a quote by Mr. Colson so I don't know how you derived this from the article.
I saw quotes such as:
"Of course, diversity has been and always will be a fact of life in America, a nation built of immigrants. Just as there are social costs associated with diversity, however, there are also benefits: dynamism and creativity, to name but two."
Of course, thats because underlying all the racial and ethnic diversity is their essential unity in Christ. This is why Christians can acknowledge and even celebrate the diversity within their churches without fear of hunkering downthe person sitting next to you may be different from you in many ways, but he is the same where it counts."
Ok. for the first quote from Mr. Colson I selected. We are a diverse and culturally different nation. We are from different countries and backgrounds but we are nonetheless Americans. I understand the Ellis Island boom is over however we have a thriving number of Mexican (legal) & Middle Eastern originating Americans. As far as the African-American population in this country they are a cultural different groups. Northern black differ from Southern blacks as well as Northern whites from Southern whites. You have to look at the people you are talking about and what is normal custom for them and then you can factor in the church experience. It isn't hard to go into an AME Church and notice a different kind of sermon in its volume and its liveliness and that of a United Methodist service conducted in the north in a predominately black congregation. Does some form of racism still exist? Of course it does. It even goes in both directions.
The second quote from Mr. Colson:
"Of course, thats because underlying all the racial and ethnic diversity is their essential unity in Christ. This is why Christians can acknowledge and even celebrate the diversity within their churches without fear of hunkering downthe person sitting next to you may be different from you in many ways, but he is the same where it counts."
We all worship Jesus Christ in a way that we can relate to. Whether it be a particular style of preaching or praise music that we grew up with or like. It is easier to go to a church with people of a common bond. It is less awkward in fitting in and being that the church is a family it helps with cohesion.
Part II
As far as your quote of:
'You've never heard the MLK quote, "Sunday mornings are [still] the most segregated hour in the country"?? Not to mention the fact that you're necessarily excluding everyone who doesn't share your faith, or even your shade of faith when you point to a church. You've entirely ignored the evidence available everywhere to see to reach the conclusion you wanted to reach."
Rev. Martin Luther King was talking of the segregation of the day. Once again people make up communities and then they set up churches. If those people in the community are Amish then 99.9 percent of them will farm. If it is a racist society (eg. Mobile, Alabama) they will twist scripture and make a false gospel because there are enough people doing it. The whites at that time hated blacks and blacks didn't trust the whites... Thus the STRUGGLE. Bad people make a Bad Church Point Blank.
The body of Christ for the most part is a unified front as far a race and diversity. We do have a lot of squabbles resulting from doctrinal differences which should be cleared up by examining the Word of God and approaching the situation as Christ would. Unfortunately, we have alot of people who are too proud to do this.
The second sentence of the quote... hmmm.
" Not to mention the fact that you're necessarily excluding everyone who doesn't share your faith, or even your shade of faith when you point to a church."
Uhh yeah. If you don't believe in Jesus Christ why go to church? If I don't like the New England Patriots, why would I buy season tickets?
the next line of the quote:
"You've entirely ignored the evidence available everywhere to see to reach the conclusion you wanted to reach."
This statement is erroneous as I have just shown. He (Mr. Colson) said what he meant and it was on point. I wish it was a little more in-depth however still a good article. I believe the true intend of your critizism was out of confusion and then turned into mud-slinging as in this quote:
"I've never had much respect for Mr. Colson since he was convicted for selling out his oath of office and our country."
Mr. Colson did his time for his crime that he admitted to being a part of as well as asking for forgiveness and has started and been a part of numerous ministries to help not only those in the prison systems but the lost everywhere. The Lord has forgiven him. Maybe you should too.
Part II
The churches (body) is not training the children or admonishing the parents for allowing children to raised in this pagan culture. Remember, everything in this culture is the way it is because we allow it. Our children are dying because of drugs and violence. I remember when I was a kid (not all that long ago) a drug dealer tried setting up in a city neighborhood and gave out his "freebie" to a kid. The kid brought it home and it was found by the kids parents. Inquiries were made and the neighborhood fathers got together a went after this guy who attempted to poison and destroy the kids and essentially the families of this neighborhood. They tuned the guy up and ran him off. The police can't do much if the people in the neighborhood are willing to always turn a blind eye to injustice! We as Christians should be willing to stand up to injustices were ever they are.
Religion is man-made custom. A way of worshiping and following & obeying God in absence of clear instruction on how to do so. I will qualify that statement. You may like attending a church that uses hymnals and pipe organs and the ceremony is very solemn and quiet. Communion every Sunday and a set routine and flow of the service. Nothing wrong with that. I on the other hand prefer songs to be played by musicians, my worship songs on an overhead projector or powerpoint (so my hands are free to clap and raise them) as well as a sermon given in a very lively but pointed fashion. Nothing wrong with that either. The only problem with religion is what is added by man. The Catholic church has a long history of taking things from pagan religions and incorporating that into their worship and doctrine. It is a fact of history (and it is in the Bible) other Christian religions the same things. Some build Mega-churches in the community and never lift a finger to bring the lost to Christ in the community. They claim it is a beacon to the lost yet they never turn on the switch. Religion can only be judged by what is portrayed to the congregation and community and that which happens behind closed door in their policies, practices, and the training of the members and children. If they aren't doing that then the church has become a country club in which you pay your weekly dues in tithes (and they'll be sure to let you know if your not!) and a select few run things and have a kungfu grip on all power and control. A church that doesn't evangelize the lost and disciple its converted is useless and should boarded up!
Moral is: Mother Teresa answered the call and even in doubt stayed til the end. She chose obedience to the scripture and to her Lord than her own comfort and safety. She IS a Godly woman. I believe that she did exactly what Jesus Christ did in proclaiming the Gospel to all nations, feeding the poor, and saving souls to the glory of God. She will not be guilty as the in the parable of the Sheep & the Goats (Matthew 25). End of STORY.
Part I
When you see children dying of starvation, when you see all manner of injustice done to people day in and day out for years on end it not too difficult to imagine that occasionally you question your faith.
To answer the post by BOC560 (quote:)
"Mother Teresa was obviously a good Catholic. But was she a member of the church of the Body of Christ? That is the big question we should be asking now for our own sake."
For this woman to live and work and ultimately die in that place for all those years do you not believe that perhaps she did have a relationship with Jesus Christ? That she did have time in devotion (which is required) to examine her faith and either build on it or run from it? All those years you could not fake in that environment. I have more faith in her being a Christian than I do of some of the Popes that we have had. We have a Pope now who has already compromised the scripture by making a statement of scripture and doctrine and then recanting because of a Muslim outcry. Either don't make the statement in the first place or stand up for what is your belief! She was given gifts such as a car from the Pope and she sold it and put the money back into the ministry.
You also said:
"Religion is mankinds attempt at making himself acceptable to God by his own merit and performance. We see religion in the bible as it was laid out to Israel. When the Jews made a covenant with God, they agreed upon a performance-based, conditional method to attain a right standing with Him."
The priests of the temple in the Old Testament were told by God what to wear, how to construct the temple, and what to sacrifice. They also were killed if the had spot or blemish in their lives - unrepented and unclean sin. That is why bells and a rope were tied around the priest's ankle so they could pull his body out if he wasn't right.
The New Testament churches weren't given this type of instruction because Christ paid the sin debt and was the last sacrifice needed. The believers were given an opportunity to have complete and unhindered worship to the Lord by building a church (body & building) and worship and instruction period(s) as they felt represented that particular body desire to worship their God. Worship was a true offering of faith and love for God and Jesus Christ. As long as that fell inside the guidelines of what would be acceptable to the Lord. Paul had problems with the first churches (body) because of outsiders and pagan doctrines that were trying to weave into the fiber of the Christian beliefs and essentially trying to choke out the true gospel message and meaning. Much of this I fear is why the church is more and more becoming an collection of ineffectual grouping that go to listen (but not hear) a word of God that tickles their ears and then go home.
D. James Kennedy was a godly servant of the Lord. He and other like him were a voice crying in the wilderness for along time in this country. They made use of technologies and new methods of reaching the lost. I hope with his loss that we are not going to be in a period of decline in this country for good and Godly visionaries who take the gospel to the people where they are in their lives.
May God bless him and give him the reward that has been promised for faithful servants in the eternal kingdom!
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
