  • Saying 'No' to Homosexuality Every Day

GD: In other words, believer is saying that he believes the Bible only up until the point where it makes his own worldview uncomfortable. Thess 5:21 Test all things; hold fast what is good.

I'm pretty sure he said he was divorced or he married a divorced woman. But if that is okay, then let me ask you a hypothetical: if a gay couple got married and then decided not to engage in homosexual activities because they came to some revelation that it was a sin (still loving each other, etc but no sexual activity) would you expect them to get a divorce?

believer: Do you lovingly tell pophet that he is going to hell for divorcing his wife and remarrying?

Christians are more likely to be overweight (glutton) than any other demographic.

Actually they wouldn't have to do away with the Bible at all. Even if you're a fundamentalist, its only six passages in a pretty big book that are even in question . . . and that's only if you are fundamentalist.

You're right, God is righteous and at your day of judgment, He will ask of you, why did you treat the least of my people that way?

  • Who's Bashing Whom?

. . . so insread of acting like you've already proven your case, how about you just cite the passage that says one man, one woamn is the only form of marriage allowed (or something close to that).

  • Who's Bashing Whom?

believer: The onus is on you to cite scripture that says "one man, one woman is the only marriage allowed." You've yet to do that. I showed where God was ok with other forms of marriage.

How about you answer that proph: why the nuance when it comes to slavery but not homosexuality?

gd: You see, proph allows for nuance when it comes to slavery but not when it comes to homosexuality.

  • Who's Bashing Whom?

GMG: Are you really this insensative? Are you so beholden to your own worldview that you're willing to insult other people like this? If you were African American, would you really want to make light of slavery like you're doing?

  • Who's Bashing Whom?

America 1st: Believer only listens to what he wants. I've pointed out to him several times that by his definition of ordained, polygamy counts. Also, leverate marriage is ordained. One unrelated man, one unrelated woman isn't the only "ordained" marriage in the Bible - it isn't really even "ordained" - nowhere does the Bible say "this is the standard."

jvernott: So now the Bible is to be taken as fact by anyone with a basic reading comprehension? Okay, where does the Bible specifically condemn or disapprove of slavery?

Prop: Of course you know that the Bible was supportive of sibling marriage for a period of time. And of course you also know that the Bible was supportive of polygamy for a period of time as well.

  • Who's Bashing Whom?

matthew: gdbrown didn't say not to recite Bible verses, he questioned the logic in reciting random Bible verses. Also, are you okay with slavery? Clearly the Bible has no issues with slavery and seems to even endorse it in certain spots (in the OT and NT). Do you think owning slaves is a sin?

DP: Don't forget, your wife works at a hospital so that qualifies you to comment with authority on all medical related posts! :) . . . just having a little fun at your expense; I hope you're doing well - you asked how I was a couple of days ago and I'm doing well too. BTW, I forgot to say, I'm located in West Michigan.
