  • Who's Bashing Whom?

Oh believer: You're so close . . . yet so far away. Think! You almost hit it on the head with your last statement.

  • Who's Bashing Whom?

Hmm? Oh, it must be lpepper's Bible tourettes wearing off on me . . . of course as proph said, those that understand scripture don't have a problem with it.

  • Who's Bashing Whom?

believer: You may want to go check out the definition of wishy-washy . . . and then go check out the definition of hypocrite while you're at it. LOL!

railhead: Should Wal-Mart be able to refuse service to someone who is gay? That is essentially what you are suggesting.

You sure are obsessed with sex, believer. Your relationship with your wife may be completely sexual but it certainly isn't the case with every same-sex couple I know.

  • Supreme Court Votes for Free Speech in Westboro Church Case

believer: You're such a fundamentalist. You completely ignore what I say / ask and then when you do and ask me something you accuse me of the same all the while ignoring what I say. What did I ignore? The abortion topic? This isn't the time for it. I told you its less than murder, what more do you want? Care to answer my question now? - I doubt it, you're such a hypocrite. LOL! LOL! LOL!

Spot on, phoenix. As much as it pains me (and it does as the Westboro cult is very destructive - not just to the lives of gay folks but also to us Christians) this was the right decision by SCOTUS. If they could silence them for literal speech that while hateful wasn't actually harmful, who's to say they couldn't silence those of us with a differing opinion that someone finds hateful?

believer: You're the hypocrite when it comes to abortion. You call it murder but then don't advocate the death penalty like you do for other murders - if its not muder what is it?

Crispy: Unfortunately (and this pains me a lot), califred is right. Free speech isn't just for those we agree with or find tasteful - its for all of us. Do you think we should be like some countries that ban "hate" speech? If so, those of you who regularly say that gay folks are going to hell could be guilty of that. Of course with much of the country being against gay people, folks like peaceful ...more

  • How Did this Happen? Why Same-Sex Marriage Makes Sense to So Many

You're right, I mean, how did women get the right to vote? How could we ever make slavery illegal? How could we allow inter-racial marriage? What is this world coming to?

  • Huckabee Rejects Debates Over Obama's Faith

You do realize that the president reads off of a teleprompter right? If you directly quoted the president with all of the little stammers, etc, you'd practically double the size of all of President Bush's quotes.

railhead: I see, so when it suits your fancy, what Jesus says is fine, but when it doesn't Jesus' opinion doesn't really matter. Glad to know you're a "pick and choose" Christian like the rest of us. As an aside, I didn't realize Jesus wrote Leviticus - I thought that was part of the Torah. If you're Jewish and not a Christian, that is fine by me, just pick one and stick with it.

Railhead: AiG doesn't interpret the evidence differently. AiG ignores almost all of the evidence, lies about almost all the rest of it and then interprets a small sliver of what's left (well less than 1/10 of 1%) differently. Sprinkle in some "God of the gaps theory." And, AiG doesn't just do this with one scientific field (biology), they do it with a bunch of others: geology, physics, chemistr...more

As to some of your points, many fundamentalist Christians say we can't expect our minds to percieve the world around us properly - only God can do that.

If you read some of the physics and math behind the Big Bang you would see that it really didn't happen as a giant explosion.less
