2011: I get what you're saying and 99% agree with you but the science was determined long before the Dover trial (interestingly enough, I read a book called Monkey Girl a couple of years ago about the trial and it was fantastic). The Dover trial merely cemented the inanity of ID in the court. In the end, I bet you and I are really just talking about semantics.

Evolution didn't dismiss God, DP, you did. By making a ridiculous claim that evolution is false, you put up one more barrier to those seeking Christ. As a Christian I was glad he refrained from his usual rants about Christian faith in the book. He made it very clear right from the beginning that was not the theme of this book. If you felt there was some "creationist bashing" - please cite it.

Actually, DP, the idea that we are the center of the universe came from early Christians - it was the astronomers who said that wasn't true but religious dogma persisted and unfortunately those some of those scientists were persecuted . . . everything old is new again I guess.
