Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)

I find it strange that the early church felt no need to publicly posture like these political-Christian groups do today. Instead, they preached the good news of the Gospel, and were known by the very presence of God's Holy Spirit which emanated from their walk before men.

This isn't a case of religious discrimination. Its a situation in which an employee wanted to break the rules which the company has concerning a dress code.

lpepperw,
I've served the Lord with joy and truth, for 30 years. What you see as my being bigoted, is a concern and yes disgust, that this legal group, the Liberty Counsel, could see anything whatsoever humorous about prayer.
Prayer is a sacred charge and privilege we as followers of Christ have been given. When we pray we are entering into the very throne-room of God.
To use it in this manner, politically in a 'somewhat' tongue in cheek manner, as was stated, is not real prayer. So yes, it is mockery.

A certain amount of tongue in cheek humor huh...
I think its mockery.Perhaps its the religious-right that needs prayer.

God bless Bishop Blake for following after Christ, and not allowing himself to base his decision on partisan politics.
And BOD, you're right. There is only one Church.

Its too bad the Christians participating in this 'values voters' political conference, are not as interested in bringing about real heart change in America by preaching the Gospel.

There is no final bill yet. So for these activists to say Obama is lying, is ridiculous.
Why not wait until the actual health care reform bill is put together before raising an alarm or accusing people of lying?
With everything which is being tossed around lately, from conspiracy theories, half truths, out right lies to manipulation and fear tactics (and many of those who go by the term 'Christian right' are just as guilty as the media)this nation is headed for an implosion; And its not going to be foreign terrorists who cause it.
Too many people, including brothers and sisters in Christ, are acting like the boy in Aesop's fable, the boy who cried wolf'...
And you know how that story ended: when the wolf really did show up, no one paid any attention to the little boy.

I'd like to hear what the other 300 Million-plus people in the US, think about the health care bill. Do they all oppose it also?
They too, are the Voice of the People.

Personally, i disagree.
I would not want Christianity, even as it pertains to history, taught to my children in public schools. That is my responsibility, and the job of our pastor and teachers within the church.
Also, public schools are government funded.
Do you really want people teaching your children anything which has to do with the faith, when you have no first-hand knowledge of the person's own faith and beliefs?
Think about it...

Chas,
Our support of any nation or land, should never ignore how that nation or land mistreats others, Christians are not.Mistreatment is mistreatment.
Hagee and his CUFI organization is a political lobbying group. Its purpose is not to spread the gospel to the lost, nor does it care how Israel treats others. Not even messianic believers within its own boarders, and especially not believers in Gaza.
He makes it very clear that CUFI's mandate is to only support Israel financially, politically, and militarily.
Its unbiblical.

Good for them! Its good to see some Christian voices speaking out for the over 50 million who cannot afford health care. Before i retired, as a single working parent, i was in that boat for over 30 years.

I don't understood the fear among my brothers and sisters in Christ concerning this bill.
Holder plainly states the bill would be used only to prosecute violent acts and not speech. How much clearer can it be stated?
Running off into 'yeah but' or 'what if's' is like looking for a demon behind every bush. If you look hard enough, you'll begin to think you see one.
Trust God folks..
We as followers of Christ do not promote violence or condone it in others. Right?
God bless...

As a Christian im not really understanding what these conservative groups are warning Americans about...
President Obama is not my spiritual leader, and any pro-gay Executive Order he were to sign, will not change my biblical beliefs on issues of gay marriage, etc.
People need to realize, including conservatives, that any man or woman in the White House is president of ALL the people living in America: not just your (or my) specific group.
Perhaps if we as followers of Christ ceased in trying to make this world our kingdom, and came to understand we are citizens of a different kingdom--the Kingdom of God, we'd stop with the all the vocal political outrage everytime something is done in Washington which goes against the teachings of the bible.

I'm sure patriotic music, a presentation on gun ownership and 2nd Amendment rights will have the lost coming to Jesus in droves. If that won't do it the gun raffle will-- NOT!
no wonder the church in America is in such a mess...

The article plainly states she has a limited record on abortion, but it took less then an hour after the announcement for those like Fr. Frank Pavone to begin comparing her to an avowed racist or an anti-Semite.
sigh...No wonder this nation is in a mess.

And im so glad to see their concern is genuine and not political. I've frankly had enough politicizing of important issues like health care, which touches most all families in one way or another.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
