  • Chaplains Encouraged to Serve Boldly Despite DADT Repeal

This whole discussion is complete red herring. When Chaplains VOLUNTEER to serve in the armed forces of our country, they volunteer to agree to be of help to ALL the soldiers under their care, including those of different beliefs, such as Jews, Moslems, Mormons and Bhuddists. And surely, the idea that every gay soldier is going to be lusting after your body, Mr. Colson, is a form of extreme vanity. The likelihood is, however, that the gay soldiers who served with you never gave you a second look.
But this obsession many Christians have with homosexuality is very troubling. Perhaps if we showed the same concern for problems that Jesus himself talked about: cruelty, lack of compassion for the poor and sick, and all the suffering in the world, people would take us more seriously as Christians.less
