I enjoyed reading the book. It's depiction of God's love for us and desire to have a personal relationship with us touched my heart. It is not a book of doctrine. There is only one book for doctrine and that is The Holy Bible.

It's funny as I read this article and many of the attacking responses I noticed an ad on the right for The Pilgrim's Progress movie. When it comes to doctrine one could equally attack that great work of fiction. But how many Christian's today would say that that book also had a great impact on their faith?

Obama has said that the way to reduce abortions is to reduce the desire for abortions by reducing unwanted pregnancies through bc and abstinence education, providing resources for unwed mothers, etc. I support those ideas.

He has also said to planned parenthood that he would sign the freedom of choice act - this would be a terrible setback for the pro-life movement.

My prayer is that he will do the right thing. But, my hope is only in the Lord.

Perhaps if early on Dobson supported McCain instead of saying he would stay home rather than vote for McCain the outcome of this election may have been different.

Perhaps God knew that the Phillies pitcher would first give thanks to God and Jesus Christ and that weighed him to the Phillies side?

On-topic, thank God for those who step out to love others who are caught up in sin.

crossfire, thanks for the clarification. The author of this article did not make it clear that the skit was a spoof of Rod Bell's book of the same title, rather it states that it was a spoof of Rod Bell.

My point is this, I've been to many different types of Church services and I don't believe that there is only one right way to have church in order to encounter God.

Perhaps it would be more productive for this Pastor to focus on advancing the Kingdom rather than picking on those he disagrees with. He may make some good points, but his delivery is all wrong. Really, who's going to take seriously someone who produces a video titled "Sexy God"?

Loving your neighbor does not require endorsing everything that they do.

The Bible teaches us to love sinners and that God hates sin. Homosexual sex is a sin. Supporting homosexual marriage not only condones the sin but glorifies it. Therefore one who follows Jesus Christ cannot support homosexual marriage.

Believers can not set aside the tenants of our faith to please those who believe differently. Our faith determines how we exercise our rights as American citizens to vote and to influence the laws of the land.

It really is that simple.
