Igh,
These ARE facts. Like I told Tamna, I am telling you READ UP! We do love Catholics. We love everybody!!!
ALL OF YOU: QUIT MAKING ASUMPTIONS THAT WE DON’T LOVE CATHOLICS!; AND QUIT MAKING ASSUMPTIONS THAT WE DON’T STRIVE FOR UNITY BECAUSE WE DO!; And before we approach a dialogue like this, let’s make sure we have our facts straight, PLEASE, or at least be sensitive to those who choose to ACKNOWLEDE the facts especially since these are parts of our Church history and are taught and even emphasized in Church liturgy.
Instead of questioning or trivializing these issues, why not ask questions like Igh did:
“Do you know what happens to those who were conquered by the muslims? Were they Mudered? tortured? Raped? Enslaved? Don't you find this an issue that should be dealt with?â€Â
Yes, AND MUCH MORE!

Well Mr. msnchris70, WE will have unity with Catholic until the Vatican and Catholics humbles themselves, confesses and REPENTS of the following, which have and ALWAYS will be our terms:
- Papalism! One of the BIGGEST heresies of all time. Protestants agree.
- The ADULTERATING FILIOQUE which was inserted into THE HOLY SYBOL OF FAITH by THE WEST HUNDREDS OF YEARS after it was agree upon in the 2nd Ecumenical Council by both The East and The West.
- Arianism, which crept into the West AGAIN in the 7th Century after it was condemned in the FIRST ECUMENCIAL COUNCIL in 325 (read the refutations of the DAVINI CODE,..this is HUGE!)
- The sac of Constantinople in 1204 by our own “Christian brothers†the CRUSADERS along with the VENETIANS who did HORRIBLE things to us Greeks for over 50 years!!!
- When we, the East, asked the West for help against the Turks in 1450 they said that they would if we became CATHOLICS and renounced our “heresies.†Of course we didn’t and the Catholics left us to the Muslim Turks who invaded us in 1453 and for 400 YEARS ALONG WITH THE ARMENAINS WE WERE SUBJECT TO THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- VATICAN1, 2!!!
- WE OTHODOX ARE UNITED ON ALL MATTERS OF CHURH DOCTRINE, THE HOLY CANONS, ETC…IN OTHER WORDS, WE HAVE NEVER DISAGREED ABOUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS THAT MATTER. THE ISSUES THAT ARE STATED IN THIS ARTICLE ARE SECONDARY-SOME EVEN TRIVIAL-AND ARE PRESENTLY BEING SOLVED SO PLEASE DO NOT MISLEAD PEOPLE READING THE CHRISTIAN POST. THE ISSUES I MEANTIONED ABOVE BETWEEN THE EAST AND WEST ARE LONG-STANDING AND COMMON KNOWLEDGE AMONG ALL CHRISTIAND WORLDWIDE; THEY ARE ALSO TAUGHT IN SEMMINARIES EVERYWHERE, AND MOST PROTESTANTS AGREE WITH US.
- WE LOVE CATHOLICS, BUT WE CANNOT HAVE UNITY UNTIL THESE ARE DELT WITH!

World Council of Churches (WCC) general secretary Rev. Dr. Samuel Kobia Thursday stated the following:
The WCC will only continue to function as a privileged instrument of the wider ecumenical movement if
openness to change is shown, and concrete steps for greater clarity of roles and improved cooperation between different actors in the ecumenical movement are taken."
The problem, as mentioned in the article, is that member churches fear that a more cohesive emphasis amongst denominations toward unity will really serve to denature their respective denominational identities. The secretary said that the times we live in "necessitates change, despite the risk." WHAT IN THE WORLD DOES THAT MEAN?
In brief, the WCC does good and bad. The bad really is the liberal and leftist elements that pollute THE CHURCH and the name of Christ-and we know what those corrupt elements are.
The Orthodox Church, the one church that really does have Apostolic Succession in place in it's ecclesiastical framework, contributes THE MOST to the WCC. The Gospel went to the Jews first and also to the Greeks. The Greeks, AFTER the Jews, started to spread the gospel first to the whole world. I am orthodox and I do believe that there were sins and mistakes on the part of the Greeks, but God will raise them up with the Jews and all other Gentile believers to unify and become the church that God has called us to be (really, the NT in the ancient Greek uses the term Greek to refer to all non-Jews in instances where Gentile is rendered instead of Greek.)
The Catholics still won't become members-and that tells us something about the Catholicism who's Pope just renewed the claims of the Catholic church that THEY are the only true church and that all others are devoid of true salvation, except for Orthodoxy which is relegated to being lesser to Catholicism because of doctrinal differences. Also, look into the Catholic dogma, Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus (literally "no salvation outside the Church") and Dominus Iesus (the Lord Jesus) and you will see what I mean (wikipedia them).
Read John 17 because Jesus really did want us to be one.

Few realize that up until 1930, all Protestant denominations agreed with the Catholic Churchs teaching condemning contraception as sinful. At its 1930 Lambeth Conference, the Anglican church, swayed by growing social pressure, announced that contraception would be allowed in some circumstances. Soon the Anglican church completely caved in, allowing contraception across the board. Since then, all other Protestant denominations have followed suit. Today, the Orthodox/Catholic Church alone proclaims the historic Christian position on contraception.
People are kidding themselves when they say that issues like "birth control" are "controverial." Before we move forward-which really takes us no where because a Protestant mentality usually tends to automatically cause strife, contention and division-how't we ask those who directly succeeded the 12 Apostles, namely the Church Fathers. You'd think that these guys would have something to say on major life issues seeing that they DIRECTLY came after Jesus's 12, wouldn't you? Or did God just leave us in doubt until about all of this?
I am Greek-Orthodox and I listen to the Fathers because THEY are direct successors of the Apostles, THEY were under the tutelage of the Apostles and THEY are in line with Apostolic Succession;something that MOST Protestants IGNORE to their detriment.
Here is a link that talks about what the Fathers said on this issue, and you might find this interesting:

Ok, when are we as "Christians" going to wake up and be saved, fully? I believe that Christians-whether Catholic, Orthodox or Protestant-that really believe in Jesus will not only obey Him, but won't COMPROMISE Him. This ecumenical nonsense has been around for too long and it's time for us to go back to BIBLICAL/HISTORICAL/REAL Christianity!
If your NOT liberally minded, aren't you tired of your own fellow "Christians" selling you out to the world; being politically "correct": bowing the knee to Ba'al?! I am Greek-American, and I am Greek Orthodox. This is THE FIRST, TRUE AND TRUALLY HISTORCAL Church. Not to say that other churches are not sound in faith, and not to say that the Orthodox have been perfect either in everything; but many Christians from the 3 main sects (above), all over the world, are now in agreement that we need to be ONE Church again, like we were in the beging, because not only are under a liberal theological attach from "false bretheren," as St. Paul puts it, but yes, we are STILL in a religious war with Muslims.
The question is how do we fight these wars; because in case you don't know or are not willing to recognize, WE ARE AT A 2 FRONT WAR with liberal Christins and with Muslims. How do we fight? you say. Well, how did they do it from the begining? How did the Greeks in the Byzantine Empire fight this age-long 2 front war?

I think that the best way to deal with "Prosperity" teachers is the Bible and the Church Fathers, because let me tell you, both are against not only heresy (which is what all these teachers promote) but also the chasing after of wealth (which is to their destruction and to those who follow them). Please read 1 Timothy 6.
Please also read the Didache (one of the most prominent early Church documents on doctrine and Christian life, etc.) because it hit's on this issue.

I believe that it is important for us as Americans who are real Christian believers to try and maintain our Christian heritage as much as possible in this evil day and age, even as by simply dedicating our money to God with the traditional inscription (stated above). Why, we ask. My response: WE ARE ALREADY UNDER THE JUDGEMENT OF GOD FOR OUR WICKNESS, WHY PROVOKE HIM EVEN MORE! IT'S JUST THAT PLAIN AND SIMPLE. WE'VE ALREADY KICKED HIM OUT OF OUR COURT ROOMS AND CLASS ROOMS; MANY OF US DON'T WANT THE CHRIST OF CHRISTMAS ANYMORE; AND MOST OF US WANT TO BE POLITICALLY CORRECT AND COWER WHEN FACED WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK TH TRUTH-AND I'M TALKING ABOUT "CHRISTIANS" WHO HAVE SUPPORTED THIS STUFF!!!
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
