ding-ding-ding-ding, you are almost correct, C-14 half-life too short for 3.2 million years. The part you miss is there are many radiometric dating methods. For example, rubidium-87 to strontium-87 ( half-life = 50 billion years) is used to date old igneous and metamorphic rocks, and also used to date lunar samples.
