    I guess I understand what the pastor was trying to do, but I'm getting a little tired of having to apologize for the word "Christian." Heaven forbid we might actually want to re-claim that word and consider the positive influence of Christianity.

    The pastor wanted to draw some attention - he's getting it.

    It's very interesting (and revealing) that this series is being produced by the UMC's ultraliberal General Board of Church and Society, rather than the denomination's Board of Discipleship, which is usually more moderate. I have a feeling this series will be generating more headlines and manufacturing more controversies in the weeks to come.

    Just what the UMC needs.
