  • Is it Possible to be a Hindu Follower of Christ?

    koko »
    Tue Oct 09, 2007 5:37 am Agree: 1   Disagree: 7

This article makes sense. It implies that "Hindu" is the name of a culture, not the name of a religion. Therefore, there will not be a clash with Christ if it is purely culture & nothing to do with belif in any God. For example, a "church" in some cultures would be a building with a pointed roof while in another, just an ordinary building. Therefore, they are allowed to build a church with a different design in Hinduism while retaining the purpose of the church as Christ meant it to be. On the outside we can be different, but on the inside... the same God lives in us...

I hope Rev Frederick wins this lawsuit & spends the money to glorify God.
This was very unfair & careless move from such a prestigeous company...

I think one underlying issue here is that the figure/God represented by religeous leaders get defamed at the same time when something like this happens.
However, we need not look at people to judge God...
Sure, the leaders get a lot of blessing or some of them fall into sin...
But if our faith is based on the image of our leaders, how can we call that faith in God when that kind of faith is so clearly based on men?
We need a relationship with God & we need to read his Word to judge whether He is truly God & worthy of all the glory.
This I need to constantly remind myself every time I see a leader do somthing I disagree on...

I am really appaled & surprised at the attitude of some of the Koreans in wanting their own people to be killed!
Aren't you one gigantic family with the same blood?

It's time for Christians everywhere to get on the net & start posting support for the captured Koreans & their families & their churches.

gayguy, What we need to determine his homophobia is a list offences not a simple statement.
I think that we can only tell if he is homophobic by looking at the motives of his offences and not by believing human opinion and justification without looking at the source of the opinion.
BTW, why is he still there after the extensive history of gay intolerance?

Anyways, I have faith in the pirates... they will bring the movie to Malaysian shores like they did for Bruce Almighty!

Mikey, I would have loved for him to write a longer article but I realise that he wishes to spread the message of not-taking-offence to the Christian world. Many would be shocked & heartbroken because of the work that they put into building ties with the Vatican but this should be an eye opener for both the Protestants & the Catholics. I don't think this issue would be resolved because both groups compare each other with difference measures. There will be those who love tradition & think that it's the best way to please God. May God speak to them Himself. & may all self-proclaimed Christians follow the word of Christ & authenticly seek God.

  • Harry Potter: Occult or Not?

    Fri Jul 13, 2007 7:53 pm Agree: 5   Disagree: 0

We live in an age of the blurring of 'traditional' standards. Movies like these & the disunity of Christian oppinion on them further blurr our concepts. Who shall we listen to? Everything is now debatable & can be justified by the individual himself. We need to prepare ourselves & the new generation by working on our most powerful weapon, our relaionship with God. As Christians we need to draw near to God & listen ONLY to Him. What a Christian Authority says may only be his/her/their oppinion. But it is what God says that's important. What does God say to you about this movie & other issues in your life? Stop listening to people. It's time to tune in & listen to Him.
