Greg Stier's comments may be viewed as intolerant by some. However, being faithful to the accurate teachings of Jesus Christ actually brings more freedom than a person could ever experience. If the words of Jesus are taken literally, he is offering a relationship that spans time and provides real answers to life's perplexing issues like forgiveness, meaning, purpose, and the afterlife. Reading the words of Christ myself has helped me to ferret out the confusing voices on religion today. I like what Franklin Graham has said in regards to the prevalent idea of "tolerance" for all religious views: "Tolerance has become the new watchword of our times. It is heralded as perhaps the highest virtue in Western culture that glues people of differing backgrounds and ideologies together for the sake of promoting cultural unity. We are told by the media and the government bureaucrats to be tolerant of everything and anything except the gospel of salvation, all in the name of political correctness." It seems almost ironic that Christians are not being tolerated by such a 'tolerant' society.

Excellent perspective on the spirit of our culture and the ramifications in the actions of those who have embraced moral relativism. May Christian leaders, parents and others rise up and lead our communities back to repentance and faith. Let's pray that God would be merciful and send the revivals of the late 1800's in our land!
