My observation was just a caution to other readers about Mr. Rauser's viewpoint. It was based on his previous articles. I agree with most of this article except his support for the gender-neutral TNIV. I am very happy to see it go because it is inaccurate.
Example:
Psalm 34:19 in the New International Version (NIV) reads: “A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; He protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.” John 19:36 clearly says that the verse is a prophecy for the crucifixion of Christ.
But in the Today’s New International Version (TNIV), the verse reads: “The righteous may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers them from them all; He protects all their bones, not one of them will be broken.” Such a change obscures the prediction of the Messiah and drastically distorts the original text by substituting "him" with "them", "his" with "their".

I have read a few articles from Mr. Rauser. Readers should note that he has consistently spoken from the liberal wing of evangelicals, if he is an evangelical at all.
Don't say abstinence is unrealistic. This defeatist attitude will lead to failure. Yes, abstinence is difficult. Statistics show that less than half of youth remain abstinent, even as low as one-third. But who are these who remain abstinent? I believe that many of them are real Christians who know premarital sex is morally wrong, a sin against God. This is what we should teach our youth.

Cizik should have resigned long ago. He has seriously tainted the reputation of NAE. Because of people like him, I cannot fully trust what NAE now says. Some NAE positions and emphasis no longer represent evangelicals.
