When I think about the judgmental arrogance I have seen and felt all my life from christians, the righteous attitude that because they believe such-and-such they are entitled to stomp on my civic equality, and the eagerness to shun science and knowledge in favor of supernatural belief, I sometimes get pretty angry too.

Mostly the anger comes when either I personally suffer from the hands of christians or when I see the world being dumbed down to willfully embrace illogical faith over logical fact. Sometimes I feel it's like dumping hundreds of years of human knowledge to live in the dark ages.

It is interesting that you say that, given that most Christians do care about their environment, it is Al Gore that they don't care about and he seems to be the one that is suckering everyone into believing that nonsense. Why? because he is going to directly profit off of the Global Warming/Climate Change Legislation, Shocking that no one bothers to pick up on that part.

Amen. I've often said that. There is a Church that Christ built, but it wasn't the catholic church. They came around a couple centuries later, perverting the truth. People were being duped left and right. It's amazing how effective Satan's lies are. Fortunately, there were many in the church that saw the catholic church for what it was, and started the reformation, to get back to the truth. Praise God.

rhi, once again unlike you I don't claim to totally understand all God's thoughts or ways and in fact He declares that about Himself. But unlike you I'm not going to discount God's Word simply because I can't understand why God says, does, and allows the things He does. These nations made themselves enemies of God and God's people and they paid a severe price for that, they had the opportunity to repent and turn to God and they refused to and God allowed His wrath to come upon them as a result.

It would help if those who preach against homosexuality to simply make sure they admonish those who hear them that it is illegal to commit any violent acts against them.

In other words the pastor should actively dissuade any of the congregation from acting on his sermon in any violent acts against those protected under the new law. If the pastor were to do that that would indicate to the authorities that the pastor wanted the flock to not practice homosexuality and not simply to violently stop those who did.

In only one sense can you be right: if religion has no contact with reality whatsoever, if it is stripped of any doctrines that relate to the real world, then indeed science will never succeed in confirming or denying its claims. Very few religions have been willing to be so self-limiting.

They didn't go to witness the ceremony therefore they could have done the same thing at school when the teacher got back the same way the do with all other teachers getting married. Are they going to take a field trip everytime a teacher gets married?
