Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)
Anyone who supports "abortion rights" (a euphemism for "the Fifth Commandment does not apply to women) is not fit to be leader of any nation. And as far as "compassion" and "Christian economics", i.e., wealth redistribution, are concerned, the Democrats always get Robin Hood and Jesus Christ mixed up. Yes, we should be compassionate, but "taking from some and giving to others" came from Sherwood forest, not the garden of Gethseme.

"Isaac Asimov once said: The bible, properly read, is the finest proponent of atheism ever devised, and he was right."
Like I said, I used to be an atheist, and no one used more "critical thinking" and set oneself up against Scripture more than I, but I found that as a member of the secular fundamentalist left I was more steeped in denial than any Christian I've ever met.

"Sorry if that offends you..."
I'm not offended. I'm not the One with whom you have the problem. If you are a Christian, then you would accept our sinful condition and need for a savior. How can a sinful mind diiscern the truth? Nowhere in Scripture does it say to "rely on (our own) thinking", but to turn to God, yes, as a child. As a former atheist, I have agreed with your position, but now, I know that Christianity is not a self-improvment program, but a reliance on our Creater and Redeemer to give us His righteousness. May you find Him today. If you are believer, I encourage you to turn to the Scripture. Peace of God to you. +

No, "SporinLife". "think(ing) through the issues for ourselves is what got us into this mess to begin with. God did not leave us alone to figure things out. He gave us His Word, which not only reveals His loving providence, but also shows us His will for us. Your typical Westerner prefers to be his own god. May you search and find the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He's the only hope for you, me, or anyone else.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
