Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)
I haven't seen this movie but I've already been told that I shouldn't see it as I will be offended. But Jesus knows and He's already said "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do". How gracious is that? But that these filmmakers may lead others to view Christianity as a negative thing is and more importantly to represent Christians as crazy and weak willed - isn't a new thing. How gracious is that? But that these filmmakers may lead others to view Christianity as a negative thing is and more importantly to represent Christians as crazy and weak willed - isn't a new thing. Hollywood's been doing this for years. The main stream culture has the same view. But I love that it's causing us Christians to defend our faith. Call me an "Extremeist" then since I can't be and won't be anything other than a literal bible believing disciple of Christ.less
Alafoli – in no way am I trying to discredit atheism as I don’t feel it has credibility as all. Also – how do you assume I’m a religious person? But as a Christian, I don’t care if you call me religious, you can and it won’t bother me. But as a Christian, I don’t care if you call me religious, you can and it won’t bother me. I find it ironic that the very group that wants to have freedom from religion is in fact part of religion itself. Religion doesn’t have to be connected with a deity, read the definition again. But you may have a limited understanding of what religion is. If you put a negative connotation of religion it’s of your own doing.
Thevilijuan – trust me – you have faith in something, whether it is your ability to work or pay your rent or get food for the day. You just don’t have faith in a deity or in the Creator. You can read the Bible without emotion, try it and see if it makes a difference.
SBellam – you’re wrong, Atheism is a religion (which does not have to involve a deity). Oh and I’d say I’m a Monotheist since I do believe in God.
I’m in total agreement with USAsoccer:
“Everything and anything that occurs is done in the view of how it promotes unit cohension and unit effectiveness. These words of the Commander are KEY: "comparable events sponsored by similar non-Federal entities that address the needs of the Soldiers on this Installation". See the wording.... "address the needs of Soldiers"....
Furthermore, allowing someone on a military installation is a TOTAL privilege and not a right. A military instatllation does not become a PUBLIC forum by the actions of the commander to allow certain speech on the installation. The Commander CONTROLS what speech he allows on the installation and the time, place, manner restrictions.”
There’s no hate here guys as I’m glad we can dialogue (btw I’m also a veteran – USAF, and I’m proud to say I would have given my life for my countrymen to be able to continue to agree/disagree verbally or in writing with by Christianity). That being said, the truth needs to be brought up and the fact of the matter is that the FFRF is hypocritical in their assertion of being non-religious. It’s actually kind of cute except for the fact that they want to stop anything that has to do with faith-based events.less
The FFRF is a part of a religion - the Athiest religion. Darwin is their prophet, Dawkins is their pope and all and the FFRF and athiests are the disciples. What kind of support and encouragement could an athiest event give a soldier and his/her family? My gosh, they'd want to spew junk out about how we're all here on earth by accident and we can make up our own laws of morality, oh and they will teach the soldiers to use "free thinking" but not to freely think of believing in a Creator because that is not in line with the Athiests religion of being ...more

And why on earth would they care about the Rock the Fort event? They are full of hate and anger and they want to ruin other's belief systems, the very thing they accuse evangelicals of all the time.less

The Great Commission is a very awesome task that Christ gave His disicples. He doesn't want anyone to die without being given the choice to follow Him. If you truly don't believe in Him then my free thinking would tell me that you shouldn't have so many emotions tied to what Christians say about Athiests or Humanists. Jesus love you my friend, you don't have to fight it. Just accept the love..it's a really awesome thing.less
It seems like there's quite a few non-believers reading these articles and being very passionate about why they don't believe. I'm glad though because their interest must be piqued by the articles. What's funny is that as a believer who loves Jesus and I've accepted Him as my Lord and Savior, I never go on Athiest websites to find out what the athiests are saying about Christianity. People constantly arguing over whether homosexuality is a sin or not. Read this last line of this ariticle "This whole situation reminds us that we are, first of all, to be Gospel people who are fellow sinners ... saved by grace, with the responsibility to share the Gospel with others." What a great line - it's so true. So what's all the hulabalu about? What's all the back and forth for? All of us need to get to the crux of Christianity not all this arguing. I'd personally rather hear from the pro-homosexuals their view on this instead of always having to hear that homosexuality is not a sin based on their viewpoints. .less
Here's an idea - read "Don't Waste You LIfe" by John Piper. Stop making the defense of or the opposition to homosexuality your religion.
