Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)

I am puzzled why the Gibbons Family first post was flagged as inappropriate- because they explained a different view?
Isn't that what the blog is for? I read the post and did not find anything that I thought fit within the definition of comments to be flagged. Not only that, but there were 3 POSITIVE notes beside the post, and only 2 negative.
I would appreciate a better explanation of who determines when a post is deleted. Right now it looks like it can be done by anyone who dislikes what they read.

Flagged as inappropriate. show I'm surprised no one sees the bias of the author of this piece. I get only to the 2d sentence before I read "strict and narrow minded as [it] may sound", and then he characterizes Hines' note as "confrontational to many". I'm going to venture that Mr. Young is one of the many. How is it that Liberty, which has communicated directly with the people involved, and explained its reasoning, has shown "less grace" than a group of students, knowingly attending a private, conservative, Christian college, who promote a candidate directly opposed to the moral principles of the Christian faith? Isn't it interesting that these students seek "to promote the values of: tolerance, equal opportunity for all, and a commitment to social justice" in a place that promotes the love of God [trumps "tolerance" in my book], practices equal opportunity and is committed to serving others as a part of their Christian witness? Liberals seek to silence Christians in the public schools and the public square, and shout "separation of church and state", but become upset when we seek to train up our children in the faith and speak out against those who would subvert that. So, we have to be quiet at your place... AND we have to be quiet at ours as well? What a travesty of free speech! How unjust. How intolerant! And you wonder why I don't think of liberals as fair, just or tolerant? hide

Mike,
You may want to search "Carrie Prejean" on christianpost. Here you will find stories about Carrie's faith: the basis for her stand (although she didn't specify that in her interview).
One needn't stop at Perez Hilton to determine the voice of the gay community and its hostility to discussion. Watch an interview of a homosexual activist. Read the news reports concerning the attacks in California against Prop 8 supporters. If a there is a prominent homosexual activist who supports freedom of speech and religious liberty, please point him out.
While I agree that we should reduce our dependency on foreign oil, for the reasons outlined by Friedman, as well as others, I disagree that it requires "going green", or associating ourselves with the green movement. There are viable alternate energy sources available which do not sit well with the green crowd, but which would move us closer to energy independence, such as coal, nuclear, and additional domestic oil drilling.

I'm guessing, Mike, that you are under the age of 60. In other words, the idea of being denied health care because you are "too old" to benefit is too far off for you to be concerned. So it is easier to ignore the future and line up for your "rights" now. Is this not an unwillingness to "deny yourself"?
Our national heath care is ALREADY being rationed. It is more subtle than what Mr. Daschle proposes, but it is there, nonetheless (the transplant system is just one example).
When the left pushes for this kind of health plan, and ends up being denied surgery because they are too old for it to be considered "cost effective", will they rush to add new legislation that somehow puts themselves back in the system? I wonder if their liberal children will give them a voice.

It's upsetting to see the lead-in box on Christianpost quoting from an AP article: "consistent champion of reproductive rights". Please Identify your source when you're quoting from such a nonChristian viewpoint- or write your own lead-in!

Why would you equate adequate knowledge with "certification"? Many public school students sit in classrooms with certified teachers but are not capable of testing well for "adequate knowledge'. Many homeschooled students have proven extremely competent in these areas of knowledge, despite lack of certified teachers. My experience is that the argument for certification is a smoke screen for a desire to indoctrinate children with a Godless worldview.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
