These nuns are doing the opposite. They know how God feels about gay activity because of his Word of God and His Catholic Church that is against this immoral and dissordered behavior. They are choosing their own personal feelings over truth.

Three centuries later, the Roman orator and statesman Marcus Tullius Cicero articulated the concept of natural law more forcibly. In his Laws, Cicero described "Law" as "the highest reason, implanted in Nature, which commands what ought to be done and forbids the opposite" In addition, Cicero noted that “right is based, not upon men's opinions, but upon Nature” Then the Catholic Church articulated Natural Law through one of its greatest philosophers, Thomas Acquinas. Much of what is known today about natural law was codified by St. Thomas Aquinas in the 13th century.less

LakeshoreChurch,

The Word of God that you love was written through Catholic men under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the 27 books were defined by the Catholic Church as inspired. God gave this church and this church alone His Authority to write it and define which books were inspired and which books were not. Moreover, the major doctrines of Christianity were all defined by the Catholic Church.
Saint Augustine once said,"I would not give credence to the Word of God if I were not swayed by the Authority of the Catholic Church who gave it to me."less

I realize relativism is alive in well in other churches, and we do have relativists in our church too. The difference is our church hiearchy tells them they are wrong. Sheep need Shepherding.
Also, your guess is far from even close on contraception. Do some research. It is all about integrity, so don't post a number if you don't know. The USCCB website has many polls that have been taken, and two or three polls suggest that 36-42% of Catholics in the last 40 years accept Holy Mother Church's teaching, which is certainly not the majority. Before the 60's it was 87% and before the 50's it was 97%. The last 40 years Liberals have infested our church as they have others. The difference is we keep on hitting home the correct teaching and thankfully many of them leave or repent.
Did you know all Christians, were against Contraception prior to 1930's? In fact, every bible christian was firmly against it until the 30's when the Anglicans allowed it for financial reasons and then the flood gates opened wide. The only Christian Church that stands firm and will never change her position on this is the Catholic Church. Truth is unchangeable since Christ is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.less

On the day of judgement, if your heart refuses the Truth of God's Holy Word and you subsist in seeking the flesh then you will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Unless your heart is converted to the Lord, you have no chance of salvation. Now, this doesn't mean that you won't make errors or mistakes, but it will mean that your heart is truly seeking God's will and you know what you do is bad and you are trying to Change with God's grace. If you refuse His Grace, then you will not be saved.

Why Ashes?
The prophet Jeremiah, for example, calls for repentance this way: "O daughter of my people, gird on sackcloth, roll in the ashes" (Jer 6:26).
The prophet Isaiah, on the other hand, critiques the use of sackcloth and ashes as inadequate to please God, but in the process he indicates that this practice was well-known in Israel: "Is this the manner of fasting I wish, of keeping a day of penance: that a man bow his head like a reed, and lie in sackcloth and ashes? Do you call this a fast, a day acceptable to the Lord?" (Is 58:5).
The prophet Daniel pleaded for God to rescue Israel with sackcloth and ashes as a sign of Israel's repentance: "I turned to the Lord God, pleading in earnest prayer, with fasting, sackcloth and ashes" (Dn 9:3).
Perhaps the best known example of repentance in the Old Testament also involves sackcloth and ashes. When the prophet Jonah finally obeyed God's command and preached in the great city of Nineveh, his preaching was amazingly effective. Word of his message was carried to the king of Nineveh. "When the news reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, laid aside his robe, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in the ashes" (Jon 3:6).
In the book of Judith, we find acts of repentance that specify that the ashes were put on people's heads: "And all the Israelite men, women and children who lived in Jerusalem prostrated themselves in front of the temple building, with ashes strewn on their heads, displaying their sackcloth covering before the Lord" (Jdt 4:11; see also 4:15 and 9:1).
Just prior to the New Testament period, the rebels fighting for Jewish independence, the Maccabees, prepared for battle using ashes: "That day they fasted and wore sackcloth; they sprinkled ashes on their heads and tore their clothes" (1 Mc 3:47; see also 4:39).
In the New Testament, Jesus refers to the use of sackcloth and ashes as signs of repentance: "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented in sackcloth and ashes" (Mt 11:21, Lk 10:13).
Lent is traditionally known as the forty-days (not including Sundays) preceding Easter Sunday, the resurrection of our Lord, and the climactic feast day on the Christian calendar. The Scriptural basis of this season stems from Jesus’ own forty days of wandering in the desert, where He was tempted by the devil, and resisted three times.
As the traditional hymn goes:
Lord, Who throughout these forty days
For us didst fast and pray,
Teach us with Thee to mourn our sins
And close by Thee to stay.
In much the same way, Christians today are called to fast, to sacrificially donate money and time to those in need, and to make concerted efforts to grow in holiness, notably in increased prayer-times and learning through reading Scripture and Christian classics.less
