    "Nobel Prize Winner Claims World Is Better Without Bible . . . "

    Whew, for a minute I thought you were talking about Obama.

    I get the sneaky suspicion that what the NCC labels as "hate speech" most Americans would call freedom of speech. And what they seek is censorship of ideas and speech that they do not agree with.

    I don't agree with Rachel Madow or Keith Olbermann, but they have a right to say it. I don't agree with the agenda of the National Council of Churches, but the way to combat them it via debate that is the cornerstone of the founding of America and it's history.

    Flagged as inappropriate. show Psalm 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. ... Psalm 50:22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the lord The Old Testament has many examples of nations that have turned from god, instead seeking comfort in Kings and mortal men, many who were corrupt and decadent. What happened to every single one of them? It's not pretty. Pray for the United States. Pray that President Obama has a change of heart and supports the unborn and opposes those who seek to redefine marriage. hide

    If the gay groups really cared about the "peace, unity and purity" of the church, they would accept this latest decision as final and move onto advancing the mission of the church and saving the denomination from ruin. Unfortunately, this has never been about God's church but instead an attempt by the gays to use the church to validate their lifestyle. And I fear this isn't the last say on the matter. "It's not over until the gays win." And if it means destroying the PCUSA, oh well.

    The news is full of stories of religious prosecution in Iraq, India, Indonesia, China, etc. Folks, don't think it can't happen here in the United States.

    I don't agree with Mormonism but the Mormons have a right to practice their religion in peace, just as Hindus, Moslems and Budhists. That is a basic right of all Americans and it must be defended, no matter who the target.

    If the homosexual lobby and their allies in the media and government succeed in beating the Mormons into submission, they won't stop there. All Christians must stand up now and defend religious liberty before it's too late.

    Remember the poem by Pastor Martin Niemoeller: ". . . And then they came for the Jews, And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew;
    And then . . . they came for me . . . And by that time there was no one left to speak up."

    The PCUSA continues on the path to irrelevance.

    "For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths." (NIV, 2 Timothy 4:3-4)

    Diana626, please remember Matthew 7:1 "Do not judge so that you will not be judged".

    You are passing judgement on Senator McCain, and that is not your role. He stated at the forum "My greatest moral failing, and I have been a very imperfect person, is the failure of my first marriage". This is now between him and God.
