Also you might read the Parable of the Good Samaritan to see what Jesus said about health care (even for foreigners) if anyone here cares at all what he said about this issue

Hey scientist, they are not talking about nationalizing health care they are talking about providing low cost health insurance. That's insurance, not nationalizing health care, it is insurance instead. Insurance. It Briton the health care system is government run. This is insurance, which we already have for people over sixty five (it is called Medicare) so insurance is what we are talking about (not nationalizing the health care system) As for your other point, we get it, you want to help the ONLY THIRTEEN MILLION people without insurance it just when it comes to this issue you are Pro Choice.

Blacksho89, no one is saying they are exactly the same so how about reeling in the sarcasm. Do the teachings of Jesus about our enemies (from who we do need protection for sure) ever mean anything to anyone on this web site. At what point will some of you admit that Jesus' way is just unworkable & irrelevant to some of you. BUT NOT TO ME

How about extending your Pro-Life views to health care for everyone and protection of the environment and the death penalty? Colson once famously said he would walk over his mother's grave for Richard Nixon and at the end of the day it seems he hasn't really changed all that much after all.

Scientist, yes that is true, good people can disagree on this subject but remember you are the one who began by throwing around accusations regarding the integrity of some of those who think your wrong and you still seem to be peddling a worldwide evil political conspiracy theory. I would like to know what you think a 'religionist' is and who you were referring to.

Hawk that's not what "religionist" means. The secularists made up that term in an effort to intimidate people of Faith. The idea is that they will claim that anyone who has Faith is like a racist. It is just one of the latest sneer terms applied to Christians who believe their Faith ought to inform their stance on social issues.

But I do see your point, the National Academy of Sciences (How did you describe them? Oh yes I remember now, you called them "religionists") and NASA are just wild eyed alarmists.

Oh really, based on estimates by NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, 2005 was the warmest year since reliable, widespread instrumental measurements became available in the late 1800s

Alright I will correct you because you are wrong, First every record high temp has been broken in every region in America in the last ten years, every single one, Second the polar ice caps nearly melted entirely last year, Third an "inside passage" opened up in the northwest last year at this point this is really obvious to everyone without a political agenda (which your original posting reveals is at work in your opinions) and every legitimate scientific study from every university around this planet agrees that your position is false

The American National Academy of Sciences says that global warming is real and is caused by human activity. They are non profit and non partisan and that settles it. These phony "studies" that suggest otherwise are funded by energy corporations. Just for the record while it is true that we cannot will the weather to change we can limit the amount of garbage we pump into the atmosphere.

Yeah Homosexual Man I am taking Jesus at his word or did you fail to read the explanation of his word in my post (the distinction between the "things", the persecutions that would happen soon and the "Times" that happen much later)?

The "things" Jesus predicted that would happen in the lifetime of those who were alive at the time were the persecutions that led to a Christian diaspora. It would have been easy for the believers in Jerusalem to think they must remain there until Jesus returned, instead they were told to flee. Jesus then went on to contrast the "things" that would happen in the near future with the "Times" as he called them that would come later. He said there would be an End Time and no one except the Father knows the exact date of these "times." You should read 1 Peter, all of it, especially focusing on chapter 3. By the way the Disciple Jesus addressed from the Cross regarding the care of his mother was John the Beloved Disciple, certainly not Lazarus.

I have heard that stat reported that Christians are just as likely to divorce as are unbelievers. It should be noted, however, that a lot of people in the U.S. say they are Christian and never attend church. It is my understanding that the divorce rate among Christians who attend church are least twice a month is much lower than the rate among the general population.

Cheisa-no one is saying that these sexual attachments always are rooted first in your sex drive. Sometimes the trajectory of your sex drive begins with attachments that form at a young age. I have heard heterosexual cross dressers say they felt drawn to the attire of the opposite sex before puberty too. The fact that you observed this before puberty might make exactly the opposite point than the one you are trying to make. Of course I might be wrong. But the original point is this; no matter where it begins this is clearly a malfunction of the reproductive system's software and not a cause for celebration.

P.S. Just so there is no misunderstanding..if one identical twin is gay then 100% of the time the other would be too if homosexuality were genetic when in fact the likelihood that the other twin will be gay too is no higher in identical twins than it would be if they had not had an identical gay twin, therefore homosexuality simply cannot be genetic

Mike you are still completely missing the point. Environment doesn't just mean your home life it also means your experiences, confusions, hurts and doubts and there is no question that gay sexual orientation springs from a source (what ever that is) that is no different than other sexual fetishes. Frankly, that isn't such bad news for you, it means that gays are not some sexual hybrids born to be stuck between men and women. Gay men are fully men and gay women are fully women. They are struggling with a fetish as are millions of others, no better no worse and no less due kindness and love and respect than any other

Yes Mike and it is equally obvious that their reproductive system is malfunctioning, surely that is obvious to you. By the way it is also obvious that we should be kind and loving to gay people, no hatred or violence or ridicule at all. But when something as important to our emotional well being as our reproductive system is malfunctioning so profoundly we should at least ask why. 49% of gay men say they were molested as children, every single study conducted on lesbian identical twins indicates there is no genetic link, prisoners are more likely to engage in homosexual sex ,their environment causes it. No one picks a sexual fetish, these are poorly understood at best but either we care about gay people really or we just care about a caring pose we are trying to strike

So people who don't think that the Church should endorse a sexual fetish are just filled with "hate"? Really, what about cross dressers and people with a leather fetish? In just 40 years or so (since the introduction of birth control pills) the human race has managed to forget what sex is for. Our sex drive is the software for our reproductive system. So I am supposed to believe that if two men are instinctively trying to make a baby with one another that nothing is broken?

This ad campaign really sounds like a church that is just trying to survive. All of us should focus first on sharing the Gospel and, of course, also helping the poor.
