To Johnzon
Say, you mention that Christians did the persecuting of Jewish people and you also reference cruelty against African and Native Americans. First, you need to consider what your personal understanding of what a Christian really is. Rome persecuted the Jews, not real Christians. Yes, Rome is one and the same as ROman Catholic "Church". Also, true believers would never have participated in slavery once convinced by the Holy Spirit that it is sinful. Either many of the founders of our country were not true Christians, not to mention most of our citizens were not.
So, when you make blanket statements like that, you need to discriminate between what true believers do and what false religions do in the name of Jesus. Remember Matthew 7: "Many will say in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not many works in Thy Name,...and He will say, Depart from Me, I never knew ye.
Just because people claim to be Christians doesn't mean they are. Please don't call the sect of Roman Catholicism a Christian group; RCC believes a false Christ. Their Christ needs dead people, purgatory, dead works, etc. to finish the work of salvation. The true Lord Jesus Christ of the Bible finished it. IT IS FINISHED. There remains therefore no more sacrifice for sin.
The Inquisition which I presume you were referencing in your comment about "Christians" persecuting the Jews, was started, conducted, executed wholly by Rome and its false sect. You can see why Islam and Rome can be friends; they are both false religions who kill in the name of their false gods.

seems like a number of people think Gov Palin is not on certain political shows because she cannot hold her own on them. Not so. The worldview she holds, as many Christians do hold, is so unpopular that when it comes through it sets off strange panic among the secularists. They are keeping her off those shows to prevent more attacks on her faith and what that means. I don't know how she stands with God, but she sure isn't afraid to acknowledge Him; wish she would call Him by Name: JESUS.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
