  • Rob Bell Gets Evangelicals Talking about Hell

Jumping to conclusions to "defend the faith" against what one perceives to be coming is a normal thing. That certainly doesn't make it biblical but it is normal.

  • Author: New Evangelical Left Pushing Bounds of Christianity

Ever notice that both the left and right of 1st century Israel despised Jesus and tried to appropriate God for their cause? Jesus didn't pick either side because they were not after the truth, they were looking for the truth that they wanted to see and their politics showed that. Some things never change.

  • Northwestern Univ. Took Cheap Shot with Sex Toy Demo, Says Author

Good to see the university level of education is getting closer to that of the red light district. Why would want students to actually learn about relevant subjects and topics for 330-40 grand a year when we can just keep them stupid and orny for the same price?

    ala,

Slavery was not a long-term way of doing business, it was what was needed before there were such things as bankruptcy laws and such. The ownership was not for whatever the owner wished, it was for repayment of a debt. Would some debtors prison be better or should those who owed a debt just walk away free? There was not a central computer or intra-tribal policing system in order to track down people, there was no banking computers to track all your transactions, etc. Ownership was the only way to ensure a debt was repaid. It really has nothing to do with differing cultures, it had to do with levels of ability to receive payment and technology.

They weren't owned like you own your dog or a car. You as a self-proclaimed university man should already know this or have been able and willing to do a little research.less

Just as a note, there is a strain of inclusion-ism that is not the same as the traditional inclusion-ism or universalism. Some (as myself) use the word inclusion in refernce to salvation as both the ability of any person from any person group can be saved and that those who respond to general revelation and the Spirit's prompting who are not in position to understand Scripture and Jesus as He truly is (say a person who has a vision or visit from Jesus but has no access to the Scriptures) but know that this Jesus (or maybe by the name Isa for Arabic speakers) called them - are saved by the same grace that they responded to.

With using the term in this way (which is becoming a bit more normal it seems) these followers are included in the family of God through the same grace while they didn't have the same opportunity to know Him better through His word.less

Defense spending doesn't add up to half the budget - not even close.

The only deplorable thing is the fact that your post is so far off base it isn't funny.

Using thousands instead of trillions, the total budget is almost $4000 dollars and you claimed that $2000 is defense spending. Instead the amount is about $555.

    Fact check! lolless
